Don't know if there are many qpr fans on here, but for me B4 ari joined them i had them bang on to get relegated, now I'm not so sure. Ari's getting tarabaat playing and if granola kics in, thats as good an attacking midfield duo as ive seen outside of the 'manc's'

Saw the 0-0 v man city last night and 2 me it looks like aris started to put a TEAM 2 gether, unlike what hughes put out, 2 day He's signed yun suk yoi, GOOD signing, i'm not surprised aris looked at that korean squad, it's filled with decent footballers, saw him/them play in bangkok as part of the olympic squad /team that whipped Thailand, i was v v near him and i thought at the time he, and quite a few others, could do a good job for an English club. Crouch the next buy? and the last signing? remy, looks more than a decent striker, interesting times for rangers, and fair play, the air Asia boy is putting his money where his mouth is, big up to the guy.

I'm glad to see you put on your legible head for this one rij cos its an interesting question about QPR.

I thought they bought lots of players in the summer without a clear picture of what the team would look like. Now with Redknapp at the helm the team is starting to take a proper shape.

Reckon they will finish above Wet Spam. wink.png

I hope QPR get relegated

But that would rule out one of London's big local derby's.

Just a thought... Its a good job uptheos does not support QPR, as his name on here would be uptheRS w00t.gif

I for one, would love to see QPR stay up. Their owner is an obvious football fan, attending almost every game, full of enthusiasm. And,well, Arry is Arry!! Whatever the Spuds lot say, he is an excellent manager

Totally agree Jack...... Fernandez has put so much into the club and is still funding players now for the club to stay in the premier league,he also said this week that if he is getting it wrong he will walk away and give somebody else a chance, decent chairman imo.Samba is a really good buy and more important than a lot of these nearly men strikers that they have bought.

Perhaps it's even better that I'm not an Arsenal supporter!

What's with all the antagonism towards Ari? rolleyes.gif

Yes he is an excellent manager.

But, heres a thought Jack, why don't you ask some Pompey fans what they think of him. Then ask some West Ham fans. You'll pretty much get the same from Spurs fans bar the odd exception.

And just to reiterate, we all think he's a very good manager but thats not really the point when discussing Henry Redknapp with his greedy crooked little under the table deals.

QPR's wage bill is going to be a nightmare waiting to happen if they go down

I like him because he is a character, sadly lacking in todays day and age.

He has generally done very well with limited funds, hence the term 'Wheeler and Dealer', which Arry hates with a vengeance.

Rumours are he did a fair bit of rape and pillaging at West Ham.... not so sure at Portsmouth.

I dont understand why the Spurs fans dislike him so muchblink.png . He worked wonders there, and got you into Europe.

Hold on Ed, didn't you hear what Rijit say! he's Tottenhams most succesful manager ever. More than Bill Nich, more than Burkinshaw and his UEFA cup, more than Peter Shreeves when we finished 3rd in the league. blink.pngcheesy.gif

Anyway, back to sanity...he did an excellent job at Spurs and we played great football. that can't be taken away. he's also a very good man manager.

And thats about it isn't it. One FA cup and a lot of dodgey dealings

You can be an excellent manager without winning trophies.

Look at David Moyes..... won nothing, yet is generally accepted as an excellent manager.

I think its best judged on what you are able to do with players you have and getting the best out of them. Something that 'Arry and Moyes have in common

Fair enough jack. Thing is its easier to find the amusement in him from afar rather than as your manager.

The reason the vast majority of Spurs fans dislike him so intensely is largely down to his behaviour after Capello resigned. No one would have stopped him going to manage his country, and he would have had the blessing from us all after the excellent job he did for us but it was the way he conducted himself during after after which was so piss poor.

He was offered a new contract btw prior to The Hodge getting the gig but he wouldn't even talk to us. Stopped turning up at training sessions etc etc. he thought the England job was in the bag.

When he didn't get it he then turned round and started making "unrealistic" demands and was promptly told the foxtrot oscar, a decision that was made with huge approval rating from fans according to polls and affiliated websites.

A few disagree but they are very few. He' an absolute turd.

indeed, ask southampton fans too. i can't stand him, he's a horrible individual. and when you consider that agents' fees and the millions they take out of the game are one of the worst things in football, harry has done his best to drive that cottage industry forward. him and peter storrie and their grubby brown envelope deals.

I personally think it will be a hard job to save them now, Reading are starting to do well, as are Southampton.

I wonder whats going to happen to all these players he is signing, when they go down, as they surly will.

It will be 3 teams from the bottom 4 at the moment that go down

Long way to go yet, bartender. Just as likely that one of QPR, Reading, Wigan and Villa will pick up the points to haul themselves clear of the drop zone than it is for one of Norwich, West Ham or Southampton to drop into the red zone IMO. The only stone cold cert for escape in the bottom 8 is Newcastle, who are getting over their schitty injury luck and whose management showed far more transfer determination in the Window than the rest of the division put together.

PS - come on you Latics (except against the Gunners). I need my taste of live EPL next season, now I'm on your approved ticket buyer list.

'Arry is a good manager when he is working with bits and pieces. City have an elite squad now, so no I would not want him as manager. 5yrs ago, absolutely yes.

mobi sums up ari's times at spurs rather more rationally than most;

’m not going to argue about his tactical nous, but the fact remains that he came in at a time when Spurs were in a lot of trouble and succeeded in turning them around and producing a string of impressive results. Whether that was down to his ‘man management’ skills, or something else, I’ll leave for you experts to argue about, but nobody can claim that he is totally useless as a manager – his record at a number of clubs, including Spurs, and who knows, maybe QPR, speaks volumes, and it can’t all have been sheer luck.

But let’s just take a step back and remember exactly what happened. He had a heart operation, and then he had a nasty court case, which if he lost, would have seen him doing time, and would have totally wrecked his life. If you looked at the evidence, it was amazing that he got away with it, and he must have been seriously scared. Yet through all this he continued to do his job at Spurs and it only started to turn to shit when the whole <deleted> country unofficially anointed him as the new England manager.

It was a done deal, every premiership manager, from Ferguson on down and every journalist and every football pundit said he was a shoe-in for the job, to say nothing of the general public who were all supporting him to a man. OK, I agree, he screwed up, and took his eye off the ball, but can you really blame him? He thought he was going to get the job he had dreamed of all his life, and even his boss at Spurs assumed it was just a matter of time.

If any of you had been in his position would you have been able to do any better? The guy is in his late sixties, he had grafted all his life and he had had a very momentous and strenuous year before the England job suddenly became his – or so he thought.

I actually felt quite sorry for him when they went for Hogdson, despite the fact that he let us down badly in the final run in, but come on guys, if it wasn’t for Chelsea’s incredible luck in the European championship, nobody would be complaining about him bring Spurs home in 4th place

mobi has such a nice turn of phrase

Southampton fans are very just in their hate of ari, after all he left to join their local rivals, not exactly subtle but they didn't moan when virtually he came the other way, as were the Portsmouth fans quick to forget his previous 'betrayal'giggle.gifwhen he returned to them from southampton Football fans, fickle or what!!!!!. At portsmouth from a FOOTBALL PERSPECTIVE, which is what a modern day manager deals with, NOT THE FINANCE imo he did remarkably well, won the fa cup and i thought if the owner hadnt fuc_ked the finances and he was allowed the budget, ari would have challenged for the top spots'

As for ari leaving spurs, PERSONALLY, I cant see exactly what he did wrong, .so he missed a few days training because a heart attack and his well court case, all well documented and during the relentless media pressure of the England job, keeping a misfiring team challenging for a champs lge spot, a court case and a 3 houri sh daily commute every day surprise surprise, he didnt sign a new contract, hardly news.

Any way, if QPR avoid the drop, which i must admit is unlikely, one things for sure there's gonna be some good entertainment on the way, and lets hope air asia boys pockets are deep cos as we all know the cost of premier league football is huge.

I wouldn't call the squad that went and beat you in the last ish game of the season 3 ish? seasons ago at your drum, to virtually claim a champs league spot, 'bits and pieces' they were a top squad and proved so in the champs league the nest season, something which your ' elite ' have failed as yet to match.clap2.gif
