Can my Thai wife take her motorbike across the Mae Sai border for the day ? what costs are involved?

You will need some bike documents and pay one time fee depending on bike(amt vary). And then you can cross the bridge. What I know the bike and the person will be tied together which mean only that registered person can ride the bike across.

I went inside takilek with the motobike of my girlfriend and her 3 years ago at this time we have honda cbr 150 cc.

First they stop me u cannot go inside.

call her again was in immigration for document.

she come ok u can go.

after they stop me again and they say u cannot go.

i call her again alwayes inside immigration for paper job.

Ok now u can go.

inside takilek we went at the right.

we pass airport aroung 5 10 km

the street was closed we pay and they opne

after 15 20 km have one bridge

cannot pass we pay and they open for pass.

after around 30 km i see samethink look like police station with people without uniform

but nobody stop and we continue

after 1 km one man follow us with honda wave and was very very hungry

expecially with my girlfriend also if we wear integral helmet may be was thinking was a myanmar girl.

cannot understand him language but we decided to follow him also if we scare about

show with the hand o him will shot us o samebody in the area will shot us.

we follow until police station where i no stop before because nobody stop us.

They say we cannot continue in thai languege.

at this time i was thinking get arrested until same minute before.

We come back takilek and we try to drive in the left side

after 2 3 km police stop us

same pick up with many army inside and a really big gun drive at hight speed same they don't care to kill sameone was in the street.

we come back takilek.

try to found same street go direction mountain but we cannot found

was only full of cinese cemetery.

And so we come back to thai mae sai.

My motorist friends from bangkok they say

we was very lucky

they know around 4 5 6 people

that do the same in takilek

and the mynamar police

take motobike from them

and they must to come back in thailand without them motobike.

The same story happen in yangoon

one friend live there about 2 years

and 1 day see one farang have a beautiful old triumph.

This farang was the number 2 of the french embassy in yangoon.

Talk a little with him

and see him again after 1 year

ask about triumph

and him answer was that

myanmar army take away from him.

Be carefull if u want to go no take expensive motobike to this country

can happen samething like this also to you....

much better go with the bycicle......

i don't like to pass the border for parking after the bridge and stop my motobike for show to the people

if you allow me to go inside and you stop me everywhere i go

there is no sense...
