The Radical Center

The Radical Center

Forget the left-wing Moonbats & the right-wing Aryan Nation fools, here's the real worry:

"The Radical Centre seem to have the same obsession with control that the fascists and communists had but unlike them, it is control for control’s sake rather than in the service of some clear ideology: there is no Blairite or Clintonite (or even ‘Bushite’) ‘The Communist Manifesto’ or ‘Mein Kampf’. They do not seek the triumph of Volk or the dictatorship of the proletariat, they just seek to replace all social interactions with politically mediated interactions. They seek to regulate everything via a total state that does not organise mass rallies or collectivise farms, it just wants a world in which nothing whatsoever is private, everything is political. Their symbol is not the Hammer and Sickle or the Swastika, it is the CCTV camera."

Link

Boon, the link you provided is not available. I suspect your link is to a wild-eyed opinion of some centrist group which may call itself "The Radical Center." That's an oxymoron, like "French military victories" or "Non-spicy Thai food." It's the very nature of a center that it's not radical, and vice versa.

I can't recall what they called it, but Clinton and Gore were leaders of a centrist Democrat group; that's what helped them get elected in 1992 (as well as lots of help from H. Ross Perot).

Since this link I can't get spells "Center" as "Centre," and mentions Blairite before Clintonite, is it British?

Steady on lads - I'll get the link refreshed.

It's a good piece & not written by some 'wild-eyed' crazy. :o

Probably another neo-con blogger ranting at their heart's contend...

These warmongering 'heroes' are the real menace of our time.

the link he provided wet to a web site which had the text he had quoted as the full article - it seems to be a pro guns website also , and I think it was american as the ADs seemed to be targeted at americans

But , co-incidently the article it linked to was an article on what seemed to be an english site ( http://www.samizdata.net/blog/archives/008648.html ) or an english orientated section of another site which mainly seemed to be arguing about the english reluctance to convert to the metric system - just how far does the hatred of the french extend?

-oh no! You shouldn't have mentioned this, it might give Boon & Co ideas for more topics to be posted. :D:o

The site is back up boys! :D

In terms of it being a 'pro-gun' website - what's wrong with guns?

Remember...it's the 'people' that kill... :o

Oh, great - another whipping boy for the neocons and the pinkos - that damned CENTER, which has the mealy-mouthed nerve to be neither left nor right, neither conservative nor liberal, neither Fascist or Commie.

'Steven,' what's a nice guy like you, doing in a place like this? Or me, for that matter?

I need something today to really pish me off, really make my urine boil. Maybe they'll put spices, pet mahk, in my watermelon/tang mo today. Maybe some bloke in a really huge lorry will try to take my motorcycle right of way, and we'll get in a duel to the death.

Bring it on, all you lefties and righties - the center half of the highway is all mine!

Well, Jesus once threatened to spit out some people who were neither hot nor cold, just luke warm. Now, where's Cool Hand Luke when you need him, to eat some eggs and show us what a real man does when the wishy-washy, namby-pamby set can't be at some absurd extreme?

What we have here is a failure to communicate! :o

Maybe he had "Phet mahk mahk" in his morning wheaties :D

I like to think of myself as a Central (not the same as an Independent). I prefer to look at both sides of an issue and try to come up with a reasonable, balanced opinion. One some issues, I may swing to the left, on others I may swing to the left.

(sounds like that old Airborne jingle, "do your balls hang low, do they waggle to and fro")

When it comes to Left/Right/Conservative/Liberal labels, one should keep in mind the wise words of a famous American:

You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.
