The pool league must be upset.......half of the paper was devoted to it!

The Pool League can use this site for free, all they have to do is contact me.

Being an English language publication alone isn't enough to thrive here; they also need knowledge of English/Western Culture!

SE lost any credibility they may have had with their readers/advertisers by printing graphic photos deemed unacceptable to the western palate; particularly when the deceased was known & respected locally.

This has been a long goodbye but it was not entirely unexpected.

Yes, this was a real disconnect with their target market.

When you expected clients can sometimes dread turning the page it will cut sales.

Knowing you might see your just deceased friend in the worst possible photo can't go overt well.

Not to mention some of the reporting that was just plain WRONG in all particulars,

but protected certain people or institutions like the local BIB, it lost credibility with, again,

it's target parket.

Samui Express is to relaunch on October 4 with bi-weekly publication with a new, professional, English editor with 30 years experience in print, online and broadcast media worldwide. It will be bigger and far better than before - more relevant and much more to read. The editor agrees with all the comments made in this forum and will address and rectify all these issues,

I am going to miss the Sudoku and crossword. It's hard to find good bathroom material over here.

Change to a squatter and your urge to linger and do the crossword will leave quickly.

It would be nice to have a local paper to read -and hopefully telling us what is really going on here on Samui. Not just the restuarant/resort reviews.
