Need Ob/gyn Surgeon

Featured Replies

A close friend is looking for a competent OB/GYN surgeon with lots of experience specializing in laparoscopic surgery.

She went to see a recommended doctor. When she asked how many of these operations this doctor made, the doctor seemed to hesitate to give an answer which did not make her comfortable. Perhaps this doctor is not used to such a question.

Can you PM me if you or your partner has had successful surgery in CM.

Much appreciated.

Not one PM. :(

I realize this is a male dominated forum and most women here are probably over 50 but a number of you have younger wife's and female friends. Women with a cyst needing surgery I believe is not an uncommon occurrence.

My friend would feel more comfortable going to a English speaking surgeon with strong positive recommendations.

Again, thanks for any helpful recommendation.

I know you're talking Chiang Mai here, Vagabond, but maybe some of the many ladies in the women in Thailand subforum or someone in the medical/health subforum would be able to recommend someone. I think because of the general vibe of the CM subforum, alot of ladies are dterred and don't log on often to see what's going on here. Too bad, 'cause if they all joined in they could change the vibe, but.... that's another story. Good luck !

You could contact Dr. Sompong Trungtawatchai, M.D. (from the pinned list). He is /was Associate Professor of OB/GYN at CMU and has a clinic at Sriphat. He delivered my son at Sriphat and was very good in how he explained everything to me in English every step of the way. He is the most popular Doctor there among the Thai women. Even if the laparoscopic surgery is not his specialty, maybe he could point you in the direction of someone at Sriphat who does this procedure.

I'm moving this to the health forum as it is easier for me & other health wallahs to deal with there.

It would help if you would clarify what the problem is. Is it endometriosis? As if so, you need not only a Gyn trained in laporoscopy but one experienced in managing that condition.
