Psych Drugs..availability...price?

Featured Replies

Go ahead and have a laugh but I have a friend......

Seriously, the wife of a friend is considering a move here but needs access to some heavy stuff:

Lithium (Eskalith CR) 450gm

Cymbalta 60gm

Risperidone 2gm

Buspar 15gm

Cogentin 10gm

since I am inanely happy i have no idea about this stuff. Anyone with

knowledge please respond.

Where to get?

How much roughly?

thanks in advance

perhaps your friend should consider a more nurturing environment

What are your credentials?

All of these drugs are available in Thailand, although several require a prescription and can only be sold in places with a special license which for practical purposes means a hospital pharmacy, In any case, anyone who needs that mix of meds needs close follow uop (and frequent labs have to be doen for the lithium).

Which brings me to the greater problem which is that the quality of psych care here is very limited and almost non existant outside of Bkk. The other poster may not have worded it optimally, but it is indeed true that Thailand is not the best place for someone with major psych disorders. If he does insist on coming, should not settle far from Bkk.

in terms of cost, the Cymbalta and Cogentin are available only as imports and cost will be higher than it is in Europe or Oz, a bit lower than it is in the US. (It will be an imported European brand, so cost in Europe + duties and cost of shipping)

The other 3 are available in local generics.
