Cop & Bahtbus Scam

Featured Replies

They're at it again!

Seen this happen twice already in the last week.......

Busy corner of Pattaya Tai and 2nd Road.

2 bahtbuses sandwich a motorbike at the lights.

The bus at the back minor shunts the bike into the bus ahead.

Front driver gets out yelling at the bike rider (farang/thai) that his bus has damage, and there is none, other than the usual wear & tear seen on all buses.

Cop quickly steps in and sides with the bus driver.

Cop starts writing ticket to fine the bike for damage to the bus, traffic offence etc.

Bus drivers yell etc. then leave!

Bike rider is left to pay fine to cop ($$$), or option to go to Soi 9.

Bike rider (in both cases) also left with minor bike damage $$$$ :o

Maybe the cops are working with the bus drivers and sharing the spoils?

Both times, same cop... mean-looking mutha!

Could be running short of meal ticket excuses with so many farangs wearing rice cookers.

Nothing they haven't done before, I mean, really, when you look at 3 apple trees and only one looks like having the apples, in which one will you climb? Obviously, he couldn't ask for the money to the baht bus drivers, or are you still under the impression that their is an applicable law for traffic, there are some getting away with murder or drug dealing...traffic it's the last problem...

Following too close? However at those speeds I'd think more damage would be done to a bike rather than the tank like bahtbus.

most of the baht busses if not all have the foot step rail on the back which would be the first point of contact one would assume........and most of the rails are damaged to start with :o

that's just it. the bike is stationary, the bus then pushes the bike onto the next bus.

there is NO damage to the bus, it's all a setup.

I am starting to be sorry that when I had my accident, I've avoided the bahtbus and crashed into another illegal parked car instead, had to pay 7000 bht only for the car, otherwise, I think we all know what I'd gave to the taxi driver for the stunt he put me through...NADA

Kinda hard to believe...innit :o
