Can anyone give me the correct spelling of "Traitor" in Thai?

'Siensit' is the best I can do phonetically.

I think better words for "Traitor" or "Betrayer" would be

คนทรยศ

or

คนทวนสาบาน

Cheers Patrick - both excellent for describing the present situation re. Saanam Luang but watching the events, I keep hearing "Siensood" - best these Farang ears can do - which I gather is Traitor.

Can't find 'Traitor' in my Haas or Becker? :o

Ah OK

Hard to be sure but perhaps what you are hearing is "เสี่ยงสุด" , "Sieng Soot" which means, basically, "the last gamble (or risk)" which perhaps the commentators are using to describe Thaksins' efforts to remain in power?

As I say, I am not at all certain that this is the phrase you are hearing though, does it fit into the context of the rest of the commentary?

Yes, I’m sure I’m hearing เสี่ยงสุด “Sieng Soot” but also another word that sounds like “Sai Sood” perhaps spelled ใส้สีก

At any rate, I believe it’s associated with the English word for ‘traitor’?

I seriously doubt Taksin meets on the level or parts on the square… :o
