Golfing In Chiang Rai

Hi, I am in Chiang Rai for 2 weeks and would like to go Golfing at the local courses. Are there any Farang golfing days in the near future? Anyone looking for a game? I'm Canadian,a 20 handicap and don't take the game too seriously.

You can go to old airport road. There is 9 hole course. You can also unwind at the World Class Hamburger (WCH) at the course. There are 4 main course in Chiang Rai, Mae Kok, Happy City, Santiburi and Waterford. Santiburi is the best maintained and located 10 km from town. Happy City newly opened course invested by Koreans. It's about 15km to Happy city. Mae Kok is army course located near downtown and least maintained course but have interesting 18 holes. Waterford is bit out the way, 45km from town.

For transportation the course, you can call the taxi. The rate is very cheap. Santiburi, about 300B, Happy City 500B round trip.

There is saturday morning friendly outing at old airport. You can hang around at the WCH and meet some local farlang golfer. The owner is also golf instructor from California. He can guide you about the golf

Have you gotten any takers in your PMs? It is very hot these days but if you got to it early it might not be too bad. So, how long are you in town this time?

^{Nope no takers. Ive been here a week so far and will be leaving on Sunday. It is more that hot here, about a 20 degree difference from Seoul. I always try to be at the course areound 0730 and finish before noon. If I get started much later than that there is no fun in it. Plus have most of the day left for the family. Today was the final day for the construction of our fence. Now need a house to put in it.}
