Tarka 4/240 Available In Thailand? Request Advice

Featured Replies

I have a friend in a neighboring country who has asked me if this is available here.

He indicated it is a cholesterol med called Tarka 4/240. I am not sure if it is a brand name or what it is.

He is trying to avoid a long-haul trip back "home" and would prefer to do a Trip to Bangkok instead.

He is happy to go to a Dr to get a legal prescription if that is required, I recommended he also have that for Intl travel back to where he is currently residing.

Any tips would be great.

It appears to be (4 mg trandolapril and 240 mg verapamil hydrochloride ER)

A Link to it, click here.

My local pharmacy said that he can not get it as he believes that trandolapril is not approved by the Thai FDA.

Would one of the big "motherloads monsters" like Bumagrad be likely to source this in BK?

FYI, this drug was prescribed in Australia. any suggestions ?

Tarka contains two different types of medicines:

  • a calcium channel blocker (verapamil)
  • an Angiotensin Converting Enzyme (ACE) inhibitor (trandolapril)

First of all, this is not a cholesterol lowering drug. It is a very potent antihypertensive that as the poster above says, contains 2 different drugs in combination, one of which is not approved for use in Thailand.

So, no way to get it here.

Does nto appear to be available in Malaysia, Hong Kong or Singapore either.
