Used Soapbox For Sale

I'm not sure whether or not selling personal possesions on this subforum is against TV policy. I don't recall seeing anything specific in the forum rules. Mods (if they're out there), please remove this post if it's deemed as prohibited activity.

Since arriving in Bedlam a few weeks ago it's become apparent that the crowds just aren't here in any significant numbers. Oftentimes, I am depressingly alone here. I've noticed, too, that my soapbox has been collecting quite a bit of dust during that time. The lack of a sizable audience and the fact that my wife has been trying for years to get me off of it has forced me into a decision to unload it, and perhaps make better use of the space it occupies next to my computer.

As much as I regret having to relegate myself to one-liners and greatly risk emulating Dr. Pat Pong I feel in my heart I have little alternative. The plus side is that I am now in a much better position to advance my post count, although that bennie ultimately provides me with little solace to offset my love to rant and rave uncontrollably.

Granted the soapbox is quite old but nevertheless it is in very good condition. Much effort would not be required to restore it to it's original condition. I have made a single customization which allows me to keyboard without ever needing to step down for uninterrupted droning to my former cyber audiences.

While the sentimental value is priceless I will begin with bids at a reasonable 8,998 baht, which includes the original instruction manual. If interested please PM me.

Sadly,

Tippaporn

Well, I hardly think it's worth that much ! :D

I do have three 25 satang coins and a piece of thread sitting in my junk drawer. Is that reasonable ? :o

Please, Kerry, refrain from posting insulting offers. :D Serious bids only, folks.

Problem is, everyone here (pretty much) already has a soapbox. :o

Some would argue that their soapboxes are bigger and shinier than yours. Others would argue that theirs were "created" before yours, or have "evolved" more than yours. Some might claim that the truth comes only from their soapbox.

Mine is padded and has armrests, and little swivel wheels (but sadly, no cup holders). :D

I don't have a soapbox, just a cup holder.

I did have a soapbox many uears ago, but it wore out and I never got a replacement.

As GBS said 'I am no longer young enough to know everything'.

Does it come with training wheels? I'm a virgin soapboxer... :o

For that price it should be fur lined with a jacuzzi and big screen TV.

And a personal "attendant" to wash all that soap off afterwards :D

Sorry, I'm a soapbox dodger. :o

Am I doing it right?

:o:D:D

Tywais, I'm deeply honoured at the great effort expended to make your point. Yes, yes, you did it right and did it very well, too.

No need to ban me, though. Simply buy my soapbox, which will reduce me to one-liners, and I'll be just as amusing as Dr. PP. :D

Training wheels are not required. Mine comes with, as I mentioned in the OP, an instruction manual. It's quite comprehensive in it's orginal form but also includes the many personalized notations I've made over the years. Lots of great tips on, for instance, how to size up the crowd you're faced with. Very important to always be aware of the mentality and mood of the crowd. That alone goes a long way in determining your success.

Hmmmmm, maybe I should write a book; "Soapboxing for Fun and Pleasure - How to Irritate Your Audience."

One more thing, Tywais. How ironic is it that you're the one who rolled out that welcome mat for me. :o:D:D

Hope you don't suffer too many regrets. :D

I was thinking the same thing. :D

All in good fun though. I bet you liven up a party.

It's not that simple Tippaporn. Simply climbing off your soapbox does not make you an expert with the shorter version of cyber expression. :o

Anyone can rant over several pages and only exhibit their stupidity to the world, but there is an art to achieving the perfect mix of humour, sarcasm and relevance in one line. Many fail. :D

And the correct and appropriate use of smilies is something to which you are born. :D:D:D

Dr. PP is the Grand Master of one-liners. I'd love to be tutored by him but his rates are too high. :D

3 days now and the only offer I've seen so far is 75 satang and a piece of string !

Either everyone already has one, or nobody wants one.

Maybe you'll have to sweeten the offer somehow ?

Dear Mr. Tippaporn:

about your soapbox:

I might consider an offer but please be so kind to inform me what kind of SOAPBOX it is.

If it's a soapbox in good condition like #1 or #2 I might consider it.

#3 however will be out of the question.

Everyone already has one, Kerry. :D Mai pen rai. After ranting in the "Totster . . . " thread I decided to take it off the market. I have to face facts; I'm just a natural born soapboxer! :D

Thanks for the consideration, LaoPo. But it is indeed a #3. Please see above as to my final decision on this subject. I might regret not taking Kerry's original offer of 75 satang and a piece of string, though. :o
