A government commission set up to probe violence between Muslims and Buddhists last year in Arakan State has sent its final report to the president, but it remains unclear when, or even if, the findings will be made public, Democratic Voice of Burma reported. In a press release earlier this week, the commission said it would discuss the report at a press conference next week. On Monday, Human Rights Watch released a damning report of its own on the violence, which killed more than 180 people. HRW said government forces stood by while Buddhist mobs attacked minority Muslims.
