A crane truck colliding with a gasoline truck caused 9,000 liters of gasoline to spill on a road near Mabtaphood industrial estate. No one was injured in the crash. The 75-year-old crane driver was detained by police after officers interviewed witnesses.

RAYONG – April 30, 2013 [PDN]; at 5 p.m., a report of an accident of a crane truck colliding with a gasoline truck was received by Pol. Lt. Nitinan Srirooj, investigation officer, Mabtaphood police station, Amphur Meuang, Rayong province.

The collision occurred at I-8 road in front of Bayer Thai Co., Ltd. in Mabtaphood industrial estate, Amphur Meuang, Rayong province.

At the scene, arriving officers found a yellow Scannia crane truck had collided with the 18-wheel yellow Tadano gasoline truck. The collision had caused a large amount of Sohol 95 petrol gas to leak out.

The police coordinated with the fire truck of PTT Global Chemical (public) Co., Ltd. to clean the road with the combined efforts of the truck, the company’s safety employees, and the contractor.

The cleanup was causing a traffic jam, so the officers had to change the traffic route to direct the cars toward an alternate route.

"The cleanup was causing a traffic jam, so the officers had to change the traffic route to direct the cars toward an alternate route."

So traffic jam and not the hazard of having a few thousand liters of gasoline on the ground was the first thing they thought of? wink.png

You have a good point Soutpeel ! Maybe they are no regulation to obtain a licence to drive heavy oversized vehicule in Thailand. Maybe they use the same one as a truck driver. Maybe they use the same test as we pass to drive a car. Maybe you already know the answer ! If so , out of curiosity, will be pleased to learn from you or any other TV poster that can read the regulations rules in Thai.
