chainarong Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Nothing like a good old touch up before the wet season, tally ho chaps , carry on.
JetsetBkk Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 They should "spruce up" their internet services first. Or at least keep their pages up to date. 1
kimbathewhitelion Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Even with foreign aid in this area, gotta be some of the worst websites I've ever seen, both in design & functionality. America came to the same conclusion & resolve over 10 years ago. Thais....unfortunately cannot see past today.
belg Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 maybe they can start with an online 90 day report to get rid of the paper crap 1
Cuban Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 I remarked in a thread the other day that so many Thai designed web-sites are very 1990s in style and function. They are using templates from yesteryear and have this crazy idea about lurid flashing GIFs. Yes, many are outdated in information and layout, but as vanity projects they do like to display lots of photographs of staff "officers" in their rented uniforms with all those medals. As for the pre-front page "tributes" zzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZ.............
Songhua Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Maybe they can direct their consulates and embassies abroad to do the same. One I was looking at the other day appeared to have been designed in the late 90's although it stated it was last updated in 2008.
Thai at Heart Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 I remarked in a thread the other day that so many Thai designed web-sites are very 1990s in style and function. As for the pre-front page "tributes" zzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZ............. Any site that has a pop up advert first or music should be consigned to the history books as a dinosaur. I believe that includes both the Nation and the Post. WHy would I be interested in buying a condo from a newspaper advert?
NomadJoe Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 I find the English option, if provided, often doesn't work.
rubberduck Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Best advise to them is defenitely to hire an 'alien' webdesigner who understands his job.
JetsetBkk Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Here's a great example of what's wrong with Thai web sites: http://www.manager.co.th Having said that, it does compare rather favourably with this one: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/index.html
Keesters Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 First thing they should do is look at all the True company websites to find out how NOT to do it.
