If I were Canadian, and had Uncle Sam watching my back, I'd be a sniveling liberal too. :D

Careful Ulysses G, cv considers himself to be a Conservative.

Not sure what Conservative in Canada translates to in the US tho... :D

Conservative Canadian = Likes his maple syrup cold.

:o

Canadian Conservative = Anyone from Western Canada that doesn't like the Eastern Liberals.

CanCon's would be considered on "the right" in the US, but not as "far-out there" or extreme as US conservatives (Republicans). Religion doesn't play as much a part in their politics as it does down south of us. CanCon's believe in the military, and an elected Senate (The Canadian Senate consists of people appointed for life by the Prime Minister. It is largely ineffective as an arm of the government and seems to exist only to rubber-stamp any legislation the Parliment puts before it).

The wussy Liberals believe in welfare and government hand-outs to who ever doesn't want to work. They believe in using tax-payer dollars to sponsor companies that do little or no work, but make large contributions to the Liberal Party. They believe in leaders that govern with arrogance and wield dictator-like power within their party. They dislike (with a passion) the Republicans and GWB in particular.

The Liberals even tried to influence the voters in the last election, by saying that voting for the Conservatives would put a smile on George Bush's face ! (Note that the Liberals lost the last election. In the last 3 elections they went from a strong Majority government, to a weak minority government, to losing the last election.)

It has been tradition that the winner of the Presidental election hosts the Canadian Prime Minister as his first visit from a "Head-of-State". Due to the animosity between the Liberal government at the time (and the fact that GWB is from Texas), he hosted the Mexican President instead.

Many feel this "snub" was entirely due to the Liberal government, led by Jean Cretien at the time.

Unfortunately, due to the divisive nature of our multi-party system (with 3 national and one regional party vying for seats), we ended up with another minority government, controlled by the Conservatives this time.

Haven't noticed a smile on GWB's face though :D

Every time Dubya thinks of how he stomped Gore & Kerry to become leader of the free world, he gets a big shit-eating grin! :o

I'm not a big-Bush fan (I prefer the bushes be "trimmed" :D ), but I think almost anyone would have been better than Kerry (despite him using my name :o )

Every time I see that guy, he looks shifty. He should get a sponsorship from a sandal-making company (The finest flip-flops rich people can buy ! Just ask the biggest flip-flooper of all, John Kerry !) :D

Bush himself is where he is due to a spiderweb of connections, relations, favours granted, and favours owed going back to the 70s ...
True enough,

But lets don't ignore the elephant in the room, almost every sitting US President has been a Mason,

the connections are old, intricate and pervasive,

They may not be the shadowy Illuminati, but if it's a Scull and Crossbones Ivy League Frat to a corporate position, the Free Masons do have influence, (both Bush and Cheney are Masons), :D:o:D

You are confused. I doubt that Bush is a Mason. Usually, they are "liberals" and choose the best and smartest of the lot. Bush hardly fits that profile.

A big negative on the above Cobra.

In fact, the majority of US Presidents have not been Masons.

George Washington of course was one, but the last sitting President who was goes back before Roosevelt.

Ching ching, mai go hook... :D

Yes, he got it confused with Skulls and Bones. Ofcourse both Bush and Kerry are members, nice way to make sure the title stays within the club. :o

You didn't think Boon Mee would be interested in facts , did you?

That was a pretty stupid link Brit. Only thing missing was abduction by aliens. It does demonstrate that most of the so called facts on blog sites are complete garbage. Boonie might consider this before his next cut and paste effort.

Wonder if this includes nutty left-wing conspiracy theories oh holier than thou one?

That's an anti-Freemason site if I ever saw one.

Anyone can throw up false information these days - take for example that waste of time 'Wikipedia' junk... :D

This is the facts boys: I was mistaken re last sitting President a Mason was before Rossevelt.

The last US President who is/was a Mason - since he's still alive is Gerald Ford.

Wikipedia has a large mechanism against false info with it's user, writers and mods. Don't confuse something posted for 5 minutes and then removed to tbe evidence of anything else, on the contrary.

Fair enough your point re Wikipedia. :D

I was just making a point that there is a lot of false information out there and there's tons of Anti-Freemason sites for which unsuspecting people can gleen their 'facts'... :o

As always...:D I think it would be in their official bio if anyone was a mason.

Absolutely not, brit.

It goes against the tenets and purpose of Freemasonary to declare yourself a Mason.

Jing,jing... :o

Well, the official line goes: Freemasonry is not a secret society but a society of secrets.

There is a significant distinction between the two. :D

I know, the internet has it fair share (and more!) of wackjobes and sites in every direction and regarding every conspiracy known to man (and sometimes, woman).

And even made-up conspiracy sites, to sell a new product...

As usual, there is a good way to spot a BS-page: It has every it wants to say on one page, making it 100 A4 long, with tons of links with wage references to what is being said.

The hope is that everything will add up and by not breaking info into sections or new pages, the user doesn't get time to melt the facts and think it through. And then that the reader won't click all the 157 links posted in this massive collection of text and see the thin amount of 'evidence' that it actually is. And then quoting segments out of context, 'interpreting' it in a skewed way or just plain making stuff up shouldn't be forgotten...

Some of GWB's ardent supporters are discussing how he could finish out his presidency "golden" (on a high note), in the face of all the problems and possible scandals he has faced this term.

One of their suggestions was to do a major shake-up of the administration. Not to get rid of the bad apples and less competent people, but to deflect attention away from other problems.

Their idea is to try and get the media attention focused on things like appointments and confirmation hearings that would tie up business until the end of GWB's time in office.

For example, they suggest that GWB should groom a successor by replacing Dick "The Rifleman" Cheney with Condoleeza Rice as Vice-President.

Move the former VP to Defense (even though he announced his planned retirement next year, he could still be useful until then).

Rumsfield would move to a new position, along with others such as Karl Rove. (I didn't write down all their suggestions).

Well, it has been 1 month since I first posted this. Since then, GWB's Chief of Staff (Andy Card) has resigned. So has his Press Secretary, Andy McClellan. Surprise, surprise, one of FAUX News's analysts (Tony Snow) is being touted as a possible replacement. Tony noted today that it would be a major pay-cut for him to take the job though. That and the possibility of being out of a job after the next elections.

Karl Rove hasn't really moved, but has "dropped" some of his former responsibilities. Tom DeLay has announced he won't be seeking re-election (big surprise, as he could very well be in jail by the time the next elections are due :o ). Supposedly he wants to work with an organization that is trying to bring religion and the government closer together.

The rhetoric against Defense Secretary Rumsfield is growing, and there is talk that replacing him might take some of the pressure off the President. There is also talk that GWB should replace Cheney, possibly with Condi Rice (that talk has been going on for awhile, but is heating up again). I've noted that they seem to have forgotten Cheney plans on retiring next year anyways.

On Faux this morning, they noted that 57% of Americans disapprove of Bush now. Unless some major changes are made, soon, he could very well end his term as one of the most disliked presidents in modern history.

GWB's future isn't looking too "golden" now. Watch for more major changes in the near future........
