Hello guys,

Have you visit the hospital in CR and your experience? How is it compare to the hospital in CM?

The government hospital has the best of modern equipment but the line is long. The two private hospitals are limited and charges for treatment and medication is expensive. Room rates are about 1200 per night. The food is horrible.

I have been at them all and agree whit DonaldBattles-and the doctors rotate between the different hospitals-only a few are able to speak english.

I have to say the best treatment I got at the goverment hospital-also when my friend was there-they where so sweet to call us if there came anything up-fair payment-did not charge all at once but could pay monthly-and when he die they cut of half of the bill.

Once I went to Lanna Hospital in Chiang Mai-totally different -nearly as back home in denmark-most staff speak english and procedure like in europe-very proff. and payment ok to.

My experience at the Government Hospital in Chiang Rai was very good and enjoyable. I had cataract surgery on both eyes with soft lens implants and my eyes are almost like new. A highly professional staff they were and state of the art equipment in the operating rooms. They were kind and listened when I asked something or they communicated with me. Immigration here is usually as polite and kind. I don't get this type of treatment at the slop shops and Lao Khao Khao Khao in my neighborhood.

Remember, a lot can speak English but they can not understand it. As most went to schools where the did not teach listening but only talking you can't get them stop talking long enough to listen. Yesterday I was in the presence of my wife and one of her friends. I am fluent in Thai but to try to get them to stop and listen listen listen listen listen listen listen listen impossible. I keep asking my wife if she thinks she can learn anything while talking! Therefore I see no need of wasting my vocal cords. My wife is always wanting me to go to some Thai free food and drink, birthday party, 3 to 8 day funeral, 3 day weddings or something at the Wat or School. The music is so loud that you can't hear yourself scream. Thais refuse to say one word to me at these events even though I try to make small talk with them and be nice. They are too busy verbally jacking each other off. BLOODY AMAZING! I must say that while living in Bangkok most of the Thais had good manners and would listen to you when you talked to them. I am going on my 30th year in Thailand and living in 9 provinces. Like all places in the world some are not as enjoyable as others. The level of discrimination seems to be greater in the villages of the north. Not complaining just stating like it really is. The level of discrimination amongst the uneducated Thais is heavy.

My experiences in all are , Overbrooke , not so good and the tot up everything possible to add to you bill , even if you dont need it. Christian hospital ? I think not .

SriBurin Hospital , were lacking in English skills but its not their fault is mine , for not learning much Thai . The Doctor DID speak very good English and knew what he was talking about and asked me how I was so knowledgable , I said I am educated .

BEST hospital I think for me , Chiang Rai Hospital . Very helpful , very polite , quick service , even though I did have to wait about one hour to see somone one time . They seem to care about the patient and not the money that others can screw out of you .

For routine stuff I use SRIBURIN hospital, the service is quick and customer orientated, ISO 9000 certified. The hospital also has a good eye clinic. For my big issues I try and use Chiang Mai RAM hospital if not an immediate emergency. Both hospitals meet my needs and requirements. In addition, my insurance company accepts both hospitals. I base my opinion on quality-of-service and process improvements that both hospitals honor.

If you need a child doctor The Thai Government hospital is by far the best.. My wife gave birth to our son at Scriberin but there were problems after the birth and so as they could not treat him we were told by them to go to the Thai hospital. The Thai hospital has the best baby surgeon possible in Thailand. He also noticed the unbilical cord was still in the belly button hole and did an imediate op to remove it. My son could have caught an infection and died. Scriberin missed this. Having the baby at Scriberin was fine but after care a real worry.. The private rooms at 800 baht in the thai hospital are bigger cleaner and better ewuiped than Svriberin. The staff are all stars. I have also heard if you or someone you know has a heart attavk then go to the Thai hospital as they are the only ones with the proper eqipement in their ressutation unit. Its quicker to get innoculations for my kids and its free for them! If you have a snake bite thats the place to go to..

The government hospital in Chiang Rai is your best bet if you are really sick. They have the best of everything. For routine treatment their out patient clinic has a big parking lot and si well organized. Sriburin is a great place to get your eyes or boobs fixed at a big price. They fixed my wife's but said mine were behond repair.

Does anyone know the heart specialist at the government hospital. Am sure they have more than one but I was told that he also has a clinic on the weekends in Wiang Chai.
