I am going to have a long holiday in the "Jungle Chalet" and I am planning a few things to make life a little more comfortable diring the stay.

Many years ago in Australia, I was living in rented accomodation, and I purchased an above ground pool as I knew I could relocate it. As they are fast and easy to construct, I thought it would be good to put one up at the Jungle Chalet.

So Does anyone know where in Thailand I can buy an Above ground pool like this ?

Plenty of these available in Pattaya Khutan... ranging from 4-stroke Briggs & Stratton engines, to 2-stroke machines, to electric models.

Last weekend in the Kanyong store, I even saw a Black & Decker FlyMow. :o

Sorry, I can't help with the pool mate... everyone around here builds in-ground pools.

Do you remember the prices ?

No... but I'll check over the next coupla days for you. :o

I have an electric mower (height adjustable, catcher, 30m heavy duty extension cable) that I bought for between 5.5 and 6 Kbaht.

What's your preference?

Pool: I have seen relatively cheap (and large) inflatable pools (complete with pumps, filters etc). If I remember it right, a 22' (7m) round one, about 1.5m deep was somewhere around B20k. Check your local pool store

Mower: go to your local chinese hardware store and get a thai mower. They are superior to western style mowers in that:

a) they cut anything, brushes, weeds etc

:o cheaper (frame, cutter etc is about B2000-B2500 and then you add your own engine for B5-7k)

c) have big wheels (bike wheels) that make them easier to handle

negative: less protection from the knives, so make sure noone gets to close when you are cutting and beware of stones/rocks (can be shot away at great speed if hit by the knives)
