Foreigner Injured in Road Accident

At around 3am on Friday morning police and Sawang Boriboon volunteers were called to the scene of a road accident on Third Road, near the entrance to the popular X-Zyte Disco.

Here they found two men lying in the road having suffered fairly serious injuries. One was a 43-year-old Englishman and the other a 25-year-old Thai security guard.

According to witnesses, the Englishman was attempting to come out onto Third Road from X-Zyte on his motorbike when he was struck by the Thai motorcyclist who was traveling too quickly to be able to take evasive action.

The Englishman was not wearing a helmet and was knocked unconscious. He was taken to Bangkok-Pattaya Hospital to be treated for his injuries while the Thai man was taken to Pattaya Memorial.

Police are hopeful of interviewing the pair again to determine precisely who was at fault.
