I knew that, but don't know why I forgot that. Sorry Kerry.

His own fault. He should have more accurately said, without American, Canadian, Russian, Indian, Aussie, Italian (after they came to the conclusion we were winning)and other help, they would be Nazi provinces today.

And that is the best way to say it. My great-grandfather served in the Canadian Army in WWI. So, I really shouldn't forget the involvement of the Canadians in both wars.

And even more accurately, but especially America! :o

Americans have historically been isolationists.

It's when Europe decides to 'go postal' we have to get involved... :o

Yeah, that's a great one. I have always liked the jokes about our inability to use the English language. Now that's a classic! :D

Hey, when you are the big dog on the block, all the little doggies want a piece of you (because the big dog usually hordes all the action).

Some of those countries that pester the US have ocassional flashbacks to their days as colonial powers, when they used to invade sovereign nations and impose their will upon them. Now they see the US doing it and are jealous. :o

They also tend to conveniently forget that without the US help in WWII, most of their nations would still be Nazi provinces. :D

That was then, this is now. Europe and the US is a different place now and I hope this won't happen again. But you are right, we are guilty, we admit it. When would you guys (US) admit it is another question ? maybe after the empire falls ?

Clinton, a real war hero in my book, saved Europe again from another disaster, the Kosovo. Then again, America was even a different place back then. It has now turned into a giant cesspool. Not that it matters for the rest of the world, but still we worry for our American friends and how they might turn into "old Europeans".

Clinton, a real war hero, saved Europe again from another disaster,

"Don't Bogart that joint my friend...pass it ooovvveer to me! :o

He must have been distracted for Bosnia, Croatia, Rwanda, etc...

Clinton got right into Haiti.

and Jennifer, and Monica, and..........

You'll find that as a 'septic tank', once you leave the safe confines of the good 'ol USA, we ain't appreciated any more by anyone except the THAIS! :o

Interestling enough, I know more people back home that like yanks then here, and I mean in shares, not numbers.

Infact, would say it's rather hard to find anyone, wich surprises one due to the history of the last 30 years and the level of cooperation between the countries. (And the fact that many relatives and friends here have either been 'over there' to study or living there for a while anyway, and also some relatives live there permanently now.)

If there was a positive spirit it has atleast changed the last 5 years.

This is because "patriotic" republicans kept accusing him of wagging the dog everytime he tried to push the UN and NATO into intervention

Yet a better question is, why are you asking us? Do any of the Americans here on the TV forum have the authority to make official apologies for our country?

Now that we have settled that, can we get back to Fries please? :o

Well, if the citizens fail to see what wrong they did as a nation, who else would put the pressure on their government ?

....

What did my Chinese friend say? Yes, I like french fries, but somehow they taste like

potatoes. :D

I had FRENCH FRIES with my lunch today !

(Hmmm, a Canadian eating FRENCH FRIES in Thailand ! Not quite as crazy as it sounds.

In Afghanistan, we had Canadians, eating Mexican food, cooked by Nepalese kitchen staff :o )

Are you sure my money wouldn't be better spent at the South Pole? :o

Well, perhaps...see the movie "March of the Penguins"? :D

Not yet, any good.

Excellent.

The photographers have to be give a Lot of credit to film in those conditions (& they're French too)! :D

Just wait for Ang Lee to get his teeth into penguin family relations a few years down the road. BM. :D Working title: "Arse of the Penguin". :D

Butterfly has an answer for everything.

Unfortunately, they are always moronic. :o

...there was still some money to be made...interestingly Bush's Grandfather did plenty of business with Nazi Germany. Don't want to put oil in the fire, this just as a historical fact. :o

As the Kennedy's profited from Nazi owned stocks - merely a historical fact mind you. :D

A link to some evidence might make it a fact. Otherwise internet gossip.

Lamphun - when have you ever been interested in anything, but gossip? :o

Sorry Brit I try not to read your posts so that can't be right.

If you want to make an accusation try to post something to back it up. Even BM does that, though he thinks cut and paste from looney blog sites is good enough.

Hmmm you can google too...

Also denote Prescott Bush Nazi connections. (no difference)

How about that America just didn't want to go to war.

Is that at all possible? :o

Fair enough Brit but your the one making the arguement so why should I have to google.

The article on old man Kennedy doesn't say much except that he was a racist anti semite. His reputation wasn't great although he may have been libelled by the British secret service because of his support for Irish republicanism. The article didn't state anything about him owning Nazi stock. But we'll let that pass.

The stuff on Prescott Bush is common knowledge. He was in cahoots with the nazis. He only stopped when the US government shut him down.

It was a long time ago.
