I've learned so much from this forum and everyone has been so helpful. I'm wondering If i can ask a couple more questions. I am coming to Phuket in May on a tourist visa and am wondering if I need to have a round trip ticket in order to get the visa? If not, does anyone know the best way to save money regarding airfare? Should I buy one way...is airfare cheaper if I buy in Thailand to come home? Or is it better to buy a round trip and change return date a few times? I also am wondering if anyone knows how many passport pages you go through in a 6mo period of visa runs and extentions? Or if you can obtain blank pages in an emergency at the embassy.

I also have a strange question regarding cell phones in Thailand. When I call a friend and there is no answer, a nice recording comes on saying welcome to call back services. It then prompts you to choose #2 for english, then says press #1 to leave number and #2 to leave a new number. What the heck does that mean? lol My Thai friends have no explanation, and I dont know if I can leave a message or if it just more like caller ID? If anyone can answer this, it would be much appreciated. I'm not sure if the receiving party knows that I have called or if I can leave a voice message. Id appreciate closure to that mystery. Really, I was under the impression that if I was there on a visa, I did not need a return ticket. I can't purchase a round trip ticket that has a 6mo return. I would have to get the round trip and then keep changing the return date.

If you have a visa no problem w/1way ticket. 1Way is normally more expensive than a roundtrip ticket.

As for the mobile - I believe text alert is sent w/call back number.
