Baby Phuket elephant sees ocean for the first time

PHUKET: -- A YouTube user has uploaded a video of what they say is an elephant in Phuket seeing the ocean for the very first time.

The heartwarming footage, uploaded by user NancyBelal, inspired YouTube user Brendan Townsend to comment:

"Whatever the circumstances behind this baby elephant and the scar on its face, take heart that it's getting the freedom to enjoy itself and have a great time.

"Man is the most sickening and twisted animal of all, but the better amongst us need a moment to lighten up and take pleasure from moments like these. That beautiful animal is enjoying itself and that's all that matters in this brief moment of time."

User Q d said: "It's a good thing he brought his trunks with him. :)"

Good video. Better then seeing them toted down the streets for tourists to see.

Great video.

I suppose you could say he is having a 'whale' of a time.

The bit at the end where he decides to go back in and dives in head first...priceless!!!

I see he was drinking the seawater. Definately dont go near him till he has had a good

dump ! Dogs are bad enough after they have been swimming.

A most heartwarming experience to witness-every parent would recognise the utter joy and free abandon of this young creature. Wonderful, wonderful.

PS hope he was swimming between the flags, but how would you rescue him if things went bad?

At last a truly nice positive thing to see & say about Phuket - things like this make me remember why we stay.

+1

Same way they would resue anyone,....wave.

This puts a big smile in my face. It's so nice to see him/her enjoying like that :-)))

That is so fabulous, he's having such a wonderful time, so nice to see something heartwarming for a change.

Absolutely brilliant video, which brought a heartwarming smile to both my Wife and myself. More, more, more please............wai.gif

Yeah, it was a very cute vid, but still dont forget the elephant that was electrocuted, what a waste. The guy that put the fence up should be hooked up to it for a while. Elephants seem to have a very hard and dangerous life in Thailand.

wonderful !!

Yin and Yang! Yesterday electrocution, today playing in the sea for the first time! Good to see the little fellow had some good fun!

Good to see something positive coming out of Phukett for once :)

Before he went swimming , he made a trunk call and reversed the charges. Good on him hope His Buddha takes care of Him/her.

What a great video and how good to see him having such fun.

Elephants are just such wonderful creatures and sometimes I feel Thailand doesn't deserve them.

Would have loved to see him playing in the sea with a friend too !

Brilliantsmile.png He is having the time of his life! I can only wish I have that much fun in the sea....
