Been reading a few of The Dude's post lately ?

Meanwhile. It's moving day (again). I feel like a gypsy. Move from Pattaya to Kingston (Ontario, Canada).

Checked in to one hotel.

Moved (by the company) to a different hotel a week later.

Moved again (by the company) into barracks on an army base.

Two weeks later moved (by the company) into another hotel.

2 days later (today) I'm being moved back into the first hotel again.

Haven't received word on when I'm flying over to Dubai yet. Depends on the flight schedule from Dubai to Kandahar. Could be stuck here for a few days more, or stuck in Dubai. If it's a long wait, I'm going to try and sneak in a quick trip home (to Pattaya).

Sheesh, looks like I should be signing up for some more frequent flyer programs as well. Already have 4 (Emirates, Thai, China Air and Japan Airlines). Should have signed up with Korean Air. Once I get my ticket to Dubai, I'll sign up with which ever airline I'll be flying on. Pain in the butt, especially as I rarely seem to fly on the same airline twice.

The good news for you folks is that the next hotel I go to also has wireless internet in the rooms !

Not for long though. In less than 2 weeks I should be on my way. Not sure when I'll actually be arriving in the 'tan though, as it depends on various flight connections.

Once there, I have no idea what the internet situation will be like. I know that we have a couple of mobile internet trailers set up (probably 20 or so computers), but if it's like the last trip, those have to be shared with about 2,500 other people !

(we were normally limited to 30 minutes per person, per day)

Some people will have internet access from their work computers (those usually have the WebSense filtering program on them though). Probably no wireless available for security reasons.

Not sure what will be set up in the section I'm going to, so my time online could be very limited in the near future.

Not too concerned though, as I know none of you will get the Last Word while I'm gone !

Nah, if I'd had anything to do with the training, it would have been more efficient, and there'd have been a hel_l of a lot more than 10 tanks in the city.
