Alleged international fraudster caught at Phuket airport
Phuket Gazette

PHUKET: -- Bangkok Immigration Officers at Phuket International Airport on Tuesday detained a 55-year-old Chinese national who is believed to be behind a multi-million-baht international fraud.

Liu Benyue was taken into custody at the airport by Bangkok Immigration and Chinese authorities.

“We found Mr Liu in front of the main terminal waiting to pick up his son,” said Assawin Naksawat, Chief of the Immigration Office at the airport.

“He is wanted by Chinese authorities for his alleged involvement in a scam that has swindled customers out of more than 26 million baht,” Col Assawin said.

Mr Liu is accused of setting up a clothing company to import cheap clothing products from Cambodia and then failing to deliver the goods to customers.

The Shandong Provincial Court in China has issued a warrant for Mr Liu.

I thought I read that topic elsewhere on TV? I must be losing the plot, there must be loads of Chinese fraudsters in Thailand now.

Do they not know it's a reserved occupation in Thailand? coffee1.gif

It is not not FAILING TO DELIVER THE GOODS. it is intentionally no goods to deliver.

My boss was victimized by Chinese but those Chinese were buyers. Not sellers.

They invited my boss to come to China to sign a contract which amounted to millions.

They even met personally.

A bit long story but I think this kind of scam is already familiar to some..

The Thai's must have been really pissed at someone horning in on their territory to allow Chinese authorities to be with Thai authorities at the airport. Probably was a heck of a finders fee involved.. coffee1.gif
