2 years ago me & hubby moved to the UK & my study of thai went out of the window. We have recently been talking about moving back so I have kick started my study again.

I managed to pick up a copy of the fundamentals of the thai language (5th edition) for 10 pound on amazon as I found this to be invaluble when studying before & used the web version but now I am back into it I remember how hard it was for me to absorb & remember the alphabet.

I can learn phonetically & also am a fairly good mimic & can remeber spoken words & phrases but want to also read & write & this block in remembering the alphabet is making me feel disheartened (again).

Can anyone give me tips on how to remember as it is really getting me down :o

I really recommend the School of Oriental and African Languages (SOAS?) in London. They have a great Thai course there, after work, which will definetly help you.

I did look into it but I now work from home (SE London) & work long hours (7am - 7pm) so have no opportunity to go there. The course is supposed to be really good though but apart from not being close enough to study there & the long hours I work, it is quite expensive too :o

I thought you were an investment banker? Surely you could charter the company helicopter? From London City airport it is a pretty convinient DLR ride, change at Bank and you are just about there??

:o:D
