The only place I've seen L plates was on British film, so probably a British thing and therefore not surprising you don't see it here.

maggots in fishing tackle shops for sale. ( I make my own & they are a great bait here)

Good quality screws ( I'm talking about the metal one's before you say I'm wrong!)

Loads of carpentry tools I could mention ( I had to bring mine from Scotland)

A decent Thai soap opera

Jeez! Youre right the list does go on & on but I still love it here after 4 years & there's soooooooooooooo much more great stuff available here that I could never find so readily in the UK.
