First the confession; I spend too much time with my TV.

For the past several months, the channels on Rawai Cable change randomly and/or are located at different channel numbers.

This morning, many channels disappeared (all sports channels, Aljazeera, FOX and Lotus movie channel).

Some carton channels and additional Italian and Russian language channels appeared.

I was told that things would settle down once the Cable changed to all digital by the end of June.

So, is this happening to others or am I being rewarded for my excessive TV habit?

Had this problem today for the first time. Turned on TV (Karon Cable) to watch with morning coffee. Could not find my news channel, I assumed TV was down due to rain. Turned off. Tried later, still off, wife tried her Thai channel, that was Ok. After playing about I noticed that the higher channels were off (from ch 26). Called cable company, said they would look into it. After 10 o'clock I played about and found that the channels after 26 had all migrated up 20 ch numbers so 37 was now 57 ... etc.Oh well - TIT

Okay TV For Dummies. Get yourself a computer and download hola from hola.org. You can access any tv program from anywhere.

I was able to add 20 and find several missing channel in the 50's. The sports channels had been in the 20's on my TV, but cannot locate them at all. Anybody know where they are hiding?

I'll try hola, although I do manage to view many shows from a couple of other websites.

They have now put up a notice in English on the channel at 112 MHz:

"NOTICE... DEAR ALL RAWAI CABLE TV AND

KARON CABLE TV MEMBERSHIP.

RAWAI CABLE TV WILL BE REDUCE THE

CHANNELS FROM 80 TO 60

CHANNELS (ANALOG SYSTEMS) AND NEW

DIGITAL SYSTEMS 142 CHANNELS, SINCE

JULY 04 2013"

This may explain why I could get some Formula 1 and Tennis sports channels for a while - they were probably setting up the channels ready for the digital transmission before cutting them all from the analogue system.

So, happy Independence Day!

Oh well - I guess an auto rescan will be necessary to get all the available channels in sequence.

Rebooted, running OK, but may do a System Restore if I get any more problems.

Lotus Macao film channel has gone. Even Sanook has gone - that had some half decent films late at night.

Still have BBC, Aljazeera, Bloomberg and Fox news channels.

CTH film channel, two Nat Geo channels still here.

Golf, Eurosport still here.

Rest are pretty much... "rubbish" seems too harsh, but all I can think of for now.

I dont know what they are talking about with those digital channels. I rescanned the channels and got 60 analog ones. The quality is still utter crap. Maybe there is some kind of dongle to buy/rent at their office?

Same with Phuket Cable.

Just re-tuned the big TV, most of the channels seem to be there, just in different places.

Yes, on Karon Cable the quality of some of the now 60 (think I got 61) is much poorer. And I can't find the only 2 movie channels mostly in English. So we lost 20 channels - wonder if there will be a reduction in price

Might call by Kata Cable and see what channels they offer

I will be going into Rawai Cable in the Morning as its crap I just paid 6 months in advance 6 days ago and now its all over the place was enjoying Wimbledon andtthe rugby money back I will demand what a mess they have made of it all plenty Russian Crap though!!!!

I signed up with these Rawai cable dummies because they said I would get internet too.........................in three months when they put the cable in on my road.

Well, it;s been three YEARS and still no internet.

On the other side of the coin, I have not seen a bill in this time so it's probably my fault as they have no dough. Sorry everybody.

That means we can have access to digital system ? what we have to do then ? i did an autorescan still the same terrible quality and shitty channels. At least before there were some cool channel movies . i dont understand shit with this company.

Btw they are streaming themselves some channels no ? sometimes you can see DVD player logo ... if they do so why the hell they cant put something in HD ? the quality we get on rawai cable is ridiculously bad.

Any idea what you can get if you want many channels , movies and sport in HD ??? true ? im sick of rawai cable , the only thing they do good is to cut ur signal if you forgot to pay.

If you want the full 140+ channels, you need to buy the digital box.

Yes, some channels simply play DVDs and you can see the "Working" or "Loading" graphic - pretty pathetic!

You'll never get HD on the analogue system.

Also, the film channel "CTH Movies" (Cable Thai Holdings) more often than not has the sound out of sync with the video. Truly pathetic.

I have the CTH Digital Cable HD box and it's pretty awsome.

30 HD channels, just need to cancel my True Subscription now

digital box is for free now (promo) and then u will get 120-144 "digital" channels for 350 baht/month.

will register for this service as soon as i moved to my new house... but just go to the rawai cable office and there u can check out all the channels + quality!
