Paholyothin Rd - Construction work

Featured Replies

Avoid using Paholyothin Rd in front of night Bazaar towards Chiang Rai Hospital Intersection. Big roadwork being done to lay drainage pipes. Hope it does not take as long as they did in front of the Chiang Rai Hospital. Should be a real mess come Monday.

Will take photo tomorrow and post. If anyone has photos, please post them here.

Months now, on the "superhighway" in front of Rajapat. For what, I don't know.

At intersections, there is a lot of braking and acceleration. That causes lots of stress on the asphant which tends to buckle causing the surface to form ridges. That would not happen on concrete. So at most intersections the are re-doing sections where they expect most of the stress from braking and accelerating to occur. That means removing the asphalt surface and pouring concrete.

In front of Night Bazaar, however, it looks like they will like those drainage pipes to that which were recently installed in front of the Chiang Rai Hospital. Looks like they want to drain the water towards the Kok River. So this is likely going to take many more months. Funny that they should be doing it during the rainy season...

On Tuesday at 7pm the road was completely closed while trucks were dropping concrete in front of the Wiang Inn. The traffic was not moving along Jetyot Road.
