Photography educational resource online -CreativeLive

Featured Replies

Yesterday I got an email from CreativeLive.com telling me about an upcoming class on doing food photography. Today a post shows up in the photography forum talking about food pictures. Out of curiosity, I did a forum search and found no mention of CreativeLive so I thought I would tell you guys about it.

CL does online, live streaming of photography seminars that are usually 1 to 3 days long but an be as long as a week. The seminars I have watched have had excellent production value and great content.

So, let me tell you the bad side first. These are live seminars broadcast from the Seattle area in the NW United States and start at 0900 PST (GMT - 8) or 2300 here in Thailand. They usually run until 1600 PST or 0600 here. I'm a night owl so I sometimes stay up and watch the whole thing live.

The good news is that it is free. Did you catch that? FREE! But wait, there's more! If you are not a night owl, at the end of the live broadcast they do a rebroadcast. The rebroadcasts start at 0600 so you have to be an early riser.

As noted, the telecasts are free. If you see one that you really like, they are available for purchase with a significant discount being available if you purchase during the live broadcast. You can then download the files in either standard or HD formats.

So, check out the site. You do have to register to watch the videos (registration is free) and the only thing I have ever received from them are notices of upcoming seminars.

The website is www.creativelive.com

I'm not affiliated with CreativeLive in any way. I just love the seminars.

Hi David, yeah I have had 2 late nights. Andrew is by far the best I have seen, I like that 99% of the time you can eat his food, it is not a chemical pot.

So, here is a tip. You "enroll", it starts at 11pm BKK time till about 4am.

They then replay it during the next day. It is a rolling Live re-broadcast.

Check out this link. http://www.creativelive.com/live1

PS, the last one is tonight, starting at 11pm

I've done a number of their course over the past few years (some even paid :) ) and never been disappointed so far.

It is an interesting Biz concept, how they do it.

This is the best one I have seen by far, apart from being interested in the subject, the "expert" really hits a home run. Day one blew me away, Even if I did miss most of the lens section.
