April 8, 200619 yr I have for several years now obtained a one year extension to my Non O Visa on the grounds of being married to a thai ( support visa ) and did the 90 day reporting by post, each year applying for a new one year extension which was a 10 hour round trip , done twice to Bangkok , my nearest Immigration Office . showing the required money in a Thai bank, Etc. having to go through the twice 10 hour round trips and arranging to have money transferd to top up the Thai bank account can be a pain in the neck, Its just crossed my mind that as we only live 1.1/2 hours from a Thai immigration boarder point ( where many people do a visa run ) would it be possible to just arrange to do a visa run every 90 day's at the near by immigration boarder point , instead of going through the money transfering/ Bangkok Immigration 10 hour trips every year ...? I know it may cost me more but it would be worth it not to have to go all the way to Bangkok / transfer money every year, or may be ive got it all wrong and the way I am now doing it could be the best way..? any comments / advice please... Thanks ...........
April 8, 200619 yr For some reason you are not providing your location so it is kind of hard to give good advise. As for going to a border post every 90 days you have to have a multi entry non immigrant visa to do that and you will have to obtain a new one every 14-15 months. That will require a trip outside of Thailand (probably to Malaysia) and even there the multi entry is not always available. Plus 90 day trips to the nearest border/crossing(visa?)/return and return home. You would save the 90 day address postal report however. Are you sure there is not a closer immigration office you could do the extension process at?
