10 Hour Round Trip , Done Twice To Bangkok Immigration

Featured Replies

I have for several years now obtained a one year extension to my Non O Visa on the grounds of being married to a thai ( support visa ) and did the 90 day reporting by post, each year

applying for a new one year extension which was a 10 hour round trip , done twice to Bangkok , my nearest Immigration Office . showing the required money in a Thai bank, Etc.

having to go through the twice 10 hour round trips and arranging to have money transferd to top up the Thai bank account can be a pain in the neck, Its just crossed my mind that as we only live 1.1/2 hours from a Thai immigration boarder point ( where many people do a visa run ) would it be possible to just arrange to do a visa run every 90 day's at the near by immigration boarder point , instead of going through the money transfering/ Bangkok Immigration 10 hour trips every year ...? I know it may cost me more but it would be worth it not to have to go all the way to Bangkok / transfer money every year, or may be ive got it all wrong and the way I am now doing it could be the best way..? any comments / advice please...

Thanks ...........

For some reason you are not providing your location so it is kind of hard to give good advise. As for going to a border post every 90 days you have to have a multi entry non immigrant visa to do that and you will have to obtain a new one every 14-15 months. That will require a trip outside of Thailand (probably to Malaysia) and even there the multi entry is not always available. Plus 90 day trips to the nearest border/crossing(visa?)/return and return home. You would save the 90 day address postal report however.

Are you sure there is not a closer immigration office you could do the extension process at?
