If Someone Asks: Do You Post For "Post Count"? What Should You Say?

The real question here though is:

"I do not understand, what is the "Post Count" actually good for, and why do you like a High Count?"

I see plenty of guys with low counts, and they do not seem to care.

Then I see those with very high counts, and they always tell me it does not matter.

So what is the truth, do you care?

Perhaps the guys with low counts have only just joined and those with high counts have been here a while?

Nah, too simple. rolleyes.gif

Edit:

BTW, it really doesn't matter. biggrin.png

I see what you're driving at.

But also what I had hoped is that some of the people who really know would explain what a High Count is good for.

Thank you.

I could answer your question, but then you gonna accuse me that I just want to increase my post count................................Ooops it has just happened.

By the way, I have from a good source that those with a very low post count actually haven't figured out what the reply to this topic button is for.

Similar to the likes count. The post count does not say anything about the credibility and expertise of some posters(10000+ posts excepted, of course)

So you haven't conceived that a poster with only 1 post should be respected on the same level as a poster with 10000 posts?

Did I mention the words respect or disrespect in my post, or are you just grinding an axe ?

why do you keep repeating the numbr 10,000 as if it i has talismanic properties?

Read the last four words of my post above yours, and you will understand.

No, mate, just showing.

It is an interesting question but as Smokie said, it is just a number. If you aim for a high post count, good luck. In the end all that matters is what you write, not how much you write.

And, of those, how many are real.

I've made over a million posts, most of those were deleted by the mods. sad.png

No, not the mods, that would have been impossible with TVF software and the time needed to read, delete, and return to the original page state, for each deletion.

Most of those were actually deleted by the gods.

Size matters

This is why we all find TVF so stimulating to work on.

We can always increase our size as much as we like.

Just by a little thinking, relaxing, and writing.

Don't get distracted,

And don't be bashful in your posting.

cant see as how post count is indicative of much of anything

That's 'cause you've only been here a fortnight!

i would suggest you have just made my point for me

Your point?

My point was:

Perhaps the guys with low counts have only just joined and those with high counts have been here a while?

Nah, too simple. rolleyes.gif

Probably in the case of a high post count and a long member duration vs a newbie with one post will indicate at least some longer term or more intimate connection with Thailand in the high post case. A low post count and a long duration probably shows the poster is more interested in himself than in sharing with a forum.

The Gods must be crazy, to delete such fine content. whistling.gif

I've been quite surprised at the level of knowledge of some of the newbies. It's almost as if they spend their time learning about Thailand rather than chatting on the forum.

Of course, some of the newbies may actually be oldbies. whistling.gif

Agreed but this is a country of reincarnation. The ones I mean are the ones with 5 years membership and 6 posts.

How about this guy? 10 posts in 8 years, but the info he supplied was quite informative.

I guess he really does have a life outside the forum: biggrin.png
