So many good friends wanted us to let them know where we wound up???

First let me say thanks so much for all the kind words, I was very surprised at the number of views, and sorry to those of you that missed out on our Deli....as most folks constantly told us ,"we don't go to Patong anymore!" Also surprised that LiK had to delete so many posts, so please my writing this is only to let anyone that wondered where we settled into should know.Not to debate ,whether this is better then there .

First, my rent for a 2 Bdrm , living room dining area,kitchen , very nicely tiled bathroom shower with toilet divided (the floor isn't slippery,like in newer style floor tiles! Air con and fans in bedroom and living room-dining area ,plus a car-park but better for just Flowers bike and storage , it's about 25 feet to the pool from our gate. We pay our own electric and water , it also covers a cable channels fee but its better for Flower then me, but hey ,its free ,so is maintenance of the area.So we got this place for 8,000B a month and one months deposit. We kept only the small TV, dining table for 4 ,1 bed in guest room ( which is the bigger room) 2 suite chairs. We gave back their fridge and washing machine and bed for , we hadn't sold ours.The Kitchen has exhaust fan and a hood and 2 burner stove ,we brought our oven and deep freezer.Plus lot of cabinets.

We took a one years lease ,so if it we are happy after a few months we will more then likely stay in Naklua.....outside of Pattaya by just a teeny bit LoL.....we are just opposite , the Bkk-Pattaya hospital on Sukumvit Rd. (too expensive IMHO ), on Soi Nong Yai about 1/2 K from Wat Nong Yai near the train tracks ( always got to be a little Hell in Paradise but I've always loved trains and its only a few times a day they chug bye.I grew up on the NY Subway System, same-same LoL !!! ). So that's the update , Flower's already planning on doing some food again maybe a street food cart on wheels.

Lets be honest, it's more of a downgrade than upgrade.

A downgrade as far as paying much cheaper prices for better quality.

Let's not turn this into a Phuket vs Pattaya bashing contest. Let's celebrate Flower & Bill's new life. I wish them both all the best. A lovely couple.

Congratulations on the move! I think you made a great move. You're not right in Pattaya. Far enough away to escape from it and close enough to get the things you need. The rent seems like a good price and the non-slip tile floor in the bathroom is great. I've seen too many of those tiles that become ice skating rinks when wet. You're also just a short drive away from Bangkok when you need to head up that way as well.

My friends in Pattaya tell me the Nakluea and Cosy Beach areas are booming, for the reasons you mention.

I lived in Nahkula back in 1984, it was nice but that was a long time ago. had 3 bedroom house on a corner lot with air cons. It was a 5 minute motorcyle ride to downtown Pattaya

Thanks everyone for the Good Luck Wishes. I think the Nakluea & Naklua areas are 2 different places

but its all been a bit confusing, plus....Due to all the stress related to our move and trying to climb 3 flights of stairs at a Friend's house in Bkk , took 30 minutes and the maid had carried my bag.All that stress caused a Case of The Chicken's Pox Revenge ! Shingles ,sure wish I knew about the Vaccine sooner and if available here???

I suggest anybody who had Chicken Pox get it when its recommended for your age.

Not sure of all the specifics , but I been feeling miserable for over a month , its been so bad for 3 weeks it masked the pain from my arthritis and neuropathy.

One would think. But I doubt anyone would report my demise on this forum.

I remember this guy. He and wife had a sandwich shop SE of Junk a long. I went there 3 different times between 11am and 1pm weekdays and they were never open. They move to Pats because business was bad in Patong. You can't make that crap up.

that he passed this afternoon in a Pattaya Hospital<  Been sick for awhile.

That's too bad. Met him & Flower a number of times in Patong just before he left Patong for good. RIP
