PATTAYA: -- On Friday Afternoon officers from the Police Region 2 Child and Women Protection Unit armed with a search warrant and arrest warrant issued by the Pattaya Provincial Court attended a house in the Banglamung area occupied by a Swiss National who is accused of possessing explicit material relating to minors and allegedly inviting boys aged between 10 and 13 to his house. Allegations of improper and unlawful activities involving the children have also been made against the suspect.

Officers gained entry to the house occupied by Mr. Robert Tschopp aged 67 from Switzerland, a former Pattaya Bar Owner and longtime resident of Pattaya. Officers presented him with copies of search warrant number 528/2556 and arrest warrant number 505/2556, both dated 26th July 2013 and issued by the Pattaya Provincial Court
At the time of entry a 13 year old boy was in the house and was found to be relation to Mr. Tschopp or anyone else in the house at the time.

A search uncovered explicit pictures including a 2005 Calendar depicting naked and semi-naked young boys in various poses and a pornographic video reportedly depicting children stored on a computer which was seized as evidence.

Good job ..... hope those pedophiles will be eradicated forever , there are the shame of the society , in particular Pattaya which is still heaven for those.

Bangkok is far worse, but totaly irrelevant, world wide nonce,s need eradication, and the prisons should not seperate them from the mail inmates, that would stop em.

The question here should also be, does this guy have any convictions in his native Switzerland. Because if so, then it's about time this sort of person is stopped from travelling.

One option would be to have such convictions stamped in their passports.or even have their passports taken away.

Taking their passports away is a great idea if they have a conviction. That way the individual countries can keep them on the sex offenders list and keep a watchful eye. It seems such a simple solution i don't understand why it is not enforced. We all have to do something to keep the kids safe from these sick people, never mind politics every country is appalled by this so it should be universally accepted,,.. We can only hope,,,

Don't even need to stamp in the passport. Put the info on the outward computer and then let them spend the money on the airfare and turn them back from the flight without compensation.

I can't get my head around people that think young kids are attractive for those purposes. Makes me sick!

When a travel agent proposes a trip to ancient Greece, I reckon you should pass.

We cant really judge ancient civilisations by modern standards.

Lets stick to modern problems. Definite withdrawal of passport for serious offender against children and, within their home country (again for serious offence) life long tagging.

This sexual activity is wrong. I do not think it is tolerated any place in the world but one question haunts me. When I was 10,11,12and older I was aware of men that wanted something other than the time of day from me. How does this happen and are the children consenting? Where are the adults that are relatives of the boys? What happens to the children; I'm not concerned about the man.

This is a well known area of study. In the cases of boys, of course they legally cannot consent, but in practice they have consented to sell themselves. That's why it's often a rape charge even if not rape in the sense most people think of rape. Some of these boys will have long psychological pain from such encounters and would ideally get counseling, and some of them will have pretty much no harm at all. Generally it won't make them gay if they weren't already destined to be gay. There is also the risk of course of STDs.

I think there is a psychological difference in this kind of case to cases involving authority figures like priests. With priests you've got an authority figure that the victims are led to believe is the voice of God. The potential for psychological harm for sex abuse victims of such figures is likely greater.

@Jingthing

I made no accusations. I simply asked you a question. Those with a "good education" can tell the difference.

More accurately, it was a mildly ACCUSATORY loaded question.

Not quite as bad as a question like ...

When did you stop beating your wife?

I will grant you.
