All night (24/7) currency exchange at airport?

Featured Replies

I'll be leaving Thailand very early Thursday morning (flight at 5:00 a.m.), and will therefore be at the airport around 3:00 a.m. I'll probably still have a few baht on me for food at the airport and other miscellaneous stuff. While I don't think there is a currency exchange sevice at 3:00-4:30 a.m. at the airport, I thought I'd ask with this post. Is anyone aware of an all night currency exchange service this early in the morning at the airport?

Thanks.

JJ

clap2.gif well get there at 1 am to be safeburp.gif.pagespeed.ce.RBpw6FUyRR.gif and have a few beerstongue.png

I can't ever remember a time in 10 years when currency exchange booths have not been open at Suvarnabhumi

I can Satcommlee. The airport has only been open for 6 or so years !

As to the original question, during 2008 to early-2010 I was going out once a month at around 4am. I seem to remember that an exchange booth after check-in and before immigration was open. But the was over 3 years ago now.

MrMo,

Thanks for your post.

Cheers,

biggrin.png OK, I mean Don Mueang also..

money exchange is a VERY VERY profitable business, particularly considering the miserable exchange rates available at Suvarnabhumi.

as Thais usually just LOVE to make foreigners part with their money, there is no reason to believe that those excahnge booths will be closed just for one minute.... they are open 24/7.....

Thanks for the post. Yes, I flew out a few days ago and the booths were open at 4:00 a.m.

Change before you go, airport rates are notoriously crappy.

I'll be arriving at Suvarnabhumi airport at 0830 Sunday 5/10.

One question I had has already been answered that the exchange booths will be open.

Can anyone tell me the exchange rates at the airport. I just need £100 exchanging until the banks open on Monday.

In the UK the buy rate is 44baht - £1.

Would I get a better rate at the airport or should I exchange a little in the UK first.
