How to reset software installation to English

Recommended Posts

Posted

I had windows xp re-installed on an old laptop about a month ago. When I went to install printer software, it opened in Thai with no option to switch. So I went to driverlook.com and installed software from the web. Same deal.

I logged in as admin, changed regional settings and language to the states and English. Rebooted. Same thing.

Any help would be appreciated.

You need to change Unicode settings too....and then reinstall the Program. Why can't people do their own re-installations? It is so simple. Otherwise you are leaving yourselves open to all kinds of practice.

Did that right off the bat. Didn't work. Finally searched the installation CD and found english/setup. worked fine, but it seems like I will be having to do that over and over again.

If you install the OS yourself you have control over what is installed. So get the correct recovery disc for your laptop and do the installation for yourself.

All I know that in Windows 7 you have the "Localization" in Control Panel - Languages and Keyboards.

I had to sort out a Thai program that only showed garbled text instead of Thai script in the menus. Localization was the culprit, changed from English USA to Thailand and all the menus magically appeared normal. Reverse this if you have Thai script menus.

Bring your "Kuang" ( Thai word for a computer etc..) to a computer shop, pay 250 baht and have ALL programs in English.

It's not worth trying to learn how to set up all software you need. That can take a long time.Good luck.-wai.gif

I had this and the shop forgot to put it in English, so back it went, they had to put their ''CD'' in the machine to change it.

Hi transam,

i agree that the sound of a V8 is more 'smoothly', than a fan, or a dying HD of a Pc. When will you open your computer shop with view on the lake? Talk soon...wai2.gif
