My old Syndome UPS has died and I thought I'd replace it with something a bit more reliable. Anyone know where I can find APC UPS gear in the city? It available online of course (http://www.invadeit.co.th), but being a UPS it's somewhat heavy and shipping costs are high.

Banana IT doesn't seem to carry APC in CM. IT city in Bangkok does, but not here, I think.

Any ideas?

easily change it, Amourn sells batteries that will fit, about 500 Bht,

I just changed 2 last week, not difficult,and a better solution when

its just the battery. you can also sell the old battery.

I saw APC brand at Banana IT. They have branches in Foursquare and Icon Square, maybe more.

By the way, I did repair my own Syndome by buying a new battery at IT City. I upgraded it to 7 amp and it still fit the case.

Just order it on-line from Bangkok. Shipping costs are high? There is nowhere else in the world that I have seen shipping costs so low inside the country than in Thailand. We ship stuff every week all over Thailand and it's cheap as chips. I doubt if it would cost more than 150 THB by post or more than 80-100 THB by Nim See Seng Trucking Co.

Thanks everyone. After visiting Banana, IT City and Office Max, I picked up an APC UPS at JIB Computer inside Panthip Plaza.

Now I'm going to replace the battery and put my old syndrome to work elsewhere. Thanks everyone.

They have generic batteries. They will work with many UPS. Just check the specs on yours. No catalogue. They probably have 6 or 7 different batteries. They are all easy to open and change the battery or if you don't want to do it then take it in the back to the Amorn Service Center and for 200 THB they will change it for you.
