Obviously the OP is feeling self satisfied, he is fortunate to have millions to spend on some beachfront property for his wife. I read the the post as just an excuse to boast, we learn he is a property developer and built a moo bahn etc. The take away message is "I am so happy because I have big money".... losers. I did like reading some replies that are a little closer to the root of "happiness" and the philosophy involved.

Seen some land there (7 rai) right on the beach so myself, my wife and some friends made inquires and ended up buying the land for 3.5 million baht!! It is paradise with islands not far from the mainland .

Don't you consider it strange that the Thai's hadn't discovered this bargain yet ?

Are you interested in a bridge, I've one for sale.

Have you heard this one yet, ' a Brit National gets arrested at a Nairobi Airport, and he has just got to have Mohammed in his name', ( check out World News ) keep your own bridge, or you can answer my post, that I doubt. As for a bargain, if it suits you at the right place at the right time at a price you like, then a bargain it is.

Regarding the British national, I guess we better wait a few days untill his name is made public, and then see who was right.

Concerning the land has nothing to do with right place at the right time, 500.000 Baht/rai for beach front land with Chanote and ready to build is unheard of in Thailand for long time.

I think the OP forget to tell us some details like he will have to pull a few km of cable to be able to have electricity or that the land has a lower category of title deed or whatever, but Thais know very well the value of beach front land .

sorry mate, land already has power and water, instead of being negative constantly because "YOU" know better maybe you should actually do some research and not all thais are there to rip off ferangs, there are still a lot of genuine ones around that are not trying to take advantage of anyone, we found one.

And the land has Nor Sor 3 or Nor Sor 3 Gor title deed ? I sure you know the difference.

I went looking at new trucks last week. Im still considering which one to buy. What a great position to be in. I'll probably take 3 months to make the decision though.

Sent from my GT-I9505 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

most people think the same including me, this was pure arse and has turned out good, sometimes things happen for a reason.

Actually the guy is very genuine, down to earth and is simply happy because he found land for a few hundred thousand dollars which would cost millions in Australia, He has struggled to get where he has through some bloody hard work and is now extremely happy because he has realized his dream, to live on the beach. People like you are a dime a dozen, too stupid to do anything positive with their lives, spend all their money on piss and women and naturally think with their little heads. Mate I pity you, you really must have a shit life and no future prospects.

When reading you replies to other members post, you don't sound like a happy man .

I think you will find that is Nor Sor 3 Khor and it does, it is privately owned, the owner has built on some of the others he owns already plus there are houses either side of this plot(actually 4 plots in the 7 rai). Hate to <deleted> up your day but there you go.

just the opposite, what shits me are those <deleted> that only come in here to try to denigrate others and I have found that most of the time it is because they are misserable bastards that have a misserable life. I like genuine people and will treat them with respect but those of you that only know how to hang shit on others due to jealousy are beneath contempt as far as I am concerned. I am always laughing and joking where ever I go because I am happy with my life but I reserve the right to defend it against anyone trying to shoot it down due to their own inefficiencies

I saw 2 humming birds in my garden this morning. I didn't even know Thailand had humming birds. They let me get real close, but shot off before I could focus my iPhone on them. That has really made my day, and probably my week/month. You don't need to spend mega bucks to be happy. It's the little things you meet in everyday life that brings that small smile to your face that brings you real joy!

Nice thread Kevvy

Today my Thai wife cooked a full roast dinner and it's not Sunday.

My eldest boy scored at football.

My daughter had her first violin lesson and has learnt a tune already.

My youngest is about to do his first school homework with me.

I swam a mile and cycled 20km.

Happy days

CCC

But yet in another thread you where asking about how can a farang find some nice thai squeeze or whatever you call it.

I like youre sarcasting remarks and there are some fine jokers on this website but in the end i did not piss a few million baht down the drain and have the guts to boast about it .In the end i will be laughing about this and not the op of this fantastic story.I have yet to meet a fellow countryman who came back to my home country from Thailand explaining me about making millions in said country, now almost al of them end up back here living in what we call almost homeless shelters on social security checks.

I have digital television at home and one channel is completetely dedicated to stock market stuff ,not once in all these years have said people talked about investing money in Thailand or even property so apperantly stock market experts or property experts in Thailand are named noi or toy who went to school until the age of 12.But one learns everyday .......

wow, a digital tv and all you can do is look at the stock market, what a loser.

You didn't spoil my day at all.

Nor Sor 3 Khor

A Nor Sor 3 Khor is one of the many title deeds used in Thailand to exhibit the various degrees of ownership and possession of an individual over a parcel of land. Otherwise known as a Confirmed Certificate of Use, this document is similar to another form of title deed known as Nor Sor 3 Gor which confers upon an individual the right to possess a parcel of land without actually possessing the same. The difference lies in the fulfillment of certain requirements. A Nor Sor 3 Khor signifies that the individual to whom such is issued has met all the requirements for the issuance of a title deed but such deed has not yet been issued. It is to be used by an individual during this interim making him or her entitled to all the rights associated with possession. Another important point of divergence of a Nor Sor 3 Khor is that it deals with land not yet mapped through an aerial survey. However, land boundaries and other measurements have been probably made by the Land Office. An owner of a parcel of land covered by such a document may petition the Land Office to later on convert his possession into full ownership.

I read this story many years back in The South China Morning Post:

A British gent grew up in Hong Kong and when he got older kept the same Ah-Ma for his family as he had as a child. One day he went to the Ah-Ma and said: The property manager has raised the rent and we're going to have to move. The Ah-Ma cried and said 'My whole life is here -- please talk to the property manager again and maybe he'll reconsider'. The gent went back to the management and they decided not to raise the rent.

It turned out the the property owner was the Ah-Ma who had over the years purchased the entire block.

So you can never really tell just who owns what.

The current owner has full posession of the land, the land has all markers at its boundaries to identify it, we just need the surveyors to confirm these boundaries at the exchange of contracts to finalize it.

I actually have bugger all, I am on a dissability pension that the govt took off me in march but that decision has been reversed so I am happy as a pig in shit. My wife owns her house & a block of units, she manages an export company and is a hard worker but we stil struggle financially. We fell in love and married, she knew I had no money but that didnt come into it, we are extremely happy and with my pension being given back even more so(still not for another few weeks if they dont appeal it). Being able to just help friends/others is great satisfaction for us both, I have never considered having money as being the big thing in life, before my injury I ran my own businesses and gave away most of what I made to others and got a great deal of enjoyment from it, I had millionaire mates that stuggled to be happy and knew that was never for me. Having bugger all is when you find real friends, the ones that are still there for you even though you live day to day. I am at home associating with the rich(politicians, tv personalities, sporting people etc) and have done so in the past but I am also at home in a bark house with dirt floors. It isnt what you have it is who you are that is important, finding those 2 humming birds was great and would have made any normal person smile, thankfully there are still a few of us around as a lot of ex pats here are not capable of it. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, happiness is in your heart not your pocket.

Reading through the thread here, you seem to be the most unhappy poster around!whistling.gif

When arguments fail, you call posters you disagree with for alcoholics, sexmaniacs and miserable bastards! See that's the spirit!sad.png

Weren't you the OP of the "Trust in Thailand" thread?? If you are so wellconnected in the landoffice, why didn't you use your connections to solve your own landrelated problems?

As for the "miserable bastards" I guess you are refering to jbrain and myself, if you follow our postinghistory, you will find that we both are very content and succesful expats, but we don't feel the need to post every time we had a decent meal!coffee1.gif

Hope you earned yourself a good commission!
