Does anyone know where I can buy a new shade for an old fashioned standard lamp in either Cha Am - where I live - or Hua Hin. I haven't found anywhere yet that sells them separately and I am reluctant to make a special journey to Bangkok.

Any help much appreciated.

Me too searched all over inc BKK nothing had to buy a new lamp.

Funny as I was also looking for one recently. In the end I just had to buy a whole new lamp. :-(

IKEA Bangna does a complete range of replacement lampshades of various sizes and shapes. Check out their site. I believe you can order online and get delivery -they are self assembly flat pack types too with the old ring fitting. First place I've seen that does shades only. The IKEA shades go with their lamps but there's nothing to stop you just getting a shade. The info on dimensions is a bit thin - as with the fitting type but if you download the assembly instructions that will help.
