Private Planes

Featured Replies

I have a question

Does anyone know why there are no light planes here in Thailand? Are light planes not allowed? Or is there just no interest in flying them. I have been here four years and I have never seen one in the air anywhere. Whats up?

There is a small but quite active private flying circle here in Thailand. 30 years ago I did a lot of Freefall jumps from a privately owned Cessna Wren near Chonburi ......... not when I was the Pilot of course (but I can tell some stories about the pilots we DID use!), so it's by no means a recent hobby here.

(Gosh, I still miss my shortlined Para Commander but the legs just won't take the impact now - and I'm way too fixed in my habits to learn to use a "Lilo"!)

Probably the Flying Clubs nearest to Bangkok are in the Chonburi / Sriracha area (with their own Fields and facilities such as storage and maintenence etc.) - if you want contact information feel free to PM me.

Patrick

There are flying clubs all over Thailand.

Go to thaiflyingclub.com and they pretty much have all the info you need. They also rent aircraft offer instruction etc.

Pattaya Air Park offers skydiving and Ultralight instruction, there site is pattayaairpark.com

Chiangmai has at least three private fields with aircraft.

Just look around, I think there are even some fields right outside of Bangkok.
