I wanna do a good job when explaining the meaning of words in English to our curious Thai brethren. Hence...what is the best on line English dictionary (and I ain't talkin' about a subscription with the full 10 volume OED at millions per year)...

please...help me to help them...

Free online English-only dictionaries can be found at dictionary.com or merriam-webster.com (also m-w.com).

"Best" is highly subjective, but I just use dictionary.com most of the time.

Alternatively you can search Google by typing 'define:' followed by the words you need, and it will give you definitions from multiple sites.
