You betray a remarkable lack of experience in the millinery department. A pith helmet keeps one's head refreshingly shaded. However, when you go to Immigration, I would recommend that you do not take the pith

Yes, but few of us can afford to stay on them.

Even such mediocre beaches as Haad Khom are being upscaled now that the concrete road has reached it and 24/7 electricity is available.

When Burma finally becomes an acceptable tourist destination, and all those undeveloped beaches open up, the only visitors to Thai beaches will be those that can afford 5*.

Been there done that. Whether I pick it up or the hotel picks it up, it doesn't change the fact that the beach is filthy...

Thailand has changed, so be it. All gone a bit too fast the last 5 years. Infrastructure needs desperate upgrade. Water treatment, roads, schools, hospitals.

I prefer to remember when the beaches were immaculate than revisit and get sad.

Why do so many foreigners present themselves at immigration looking like they just fell out of a trash can?

Please..... have some pride in your actions, clothing appearance & personal hygiene to understand that YOU are representing ALL foreigners to the Thai people when you are in country.
