Supaphorn Nuanchan (19) was swept away by water when she was riding her motorcycle down the road. She is currently recovering from her injuries in hospital. Traffic was blocked for some time, though now one lane is flowing, said police.

Excellent choice of word clap2.gif

I take it that wasn't on the section between Chiang Mai and Doi Saket?

I think that is the section SW of the steep climb before Kun Chae NP. Near the Windmill resort?

Yes; topic should read 'Chiang Mai - Chiang Rai road'. Doi Saket district extends all the way to the provincial border with Chiang Rai.

The Lao river flows there along the road I think.

Yes clearly wrong title. I've just driven from Doi Saket to Chiang Mai and no problems on that section.

In the past 8 years I have seen that section wash out 4 times. Plays heck for the visa runners.facepalm.gif I though thought the name of the river was Beer Lao.whistling.gif
