I have recently applied, via Hong Kong, to renew UK passport which expires next year.

Do any members remember which courier was used to return their new passport, e.g. EMS or some other?

Also how long did it take to arrive approx?

Thanks.

You sent through the British Consulate?

I thought it had to be posted to Hong Kong. That could have saved me some time and money.

I think the British Consulate will do it.

They are really helpful and the contact is Khun Panita, who will put you right on all manner of things.

I renewed mine through Hong Kong recently.

I used regular air mail to send the application form to Hong Kong and the new passport came back from the UK by EMS (if I remember correctly).

Total time from sending the forms to getting the new passport was exactly 4 weeks.

A friend also did his shortly after and also got his back in 4 weeks.

To answer my own question, and for the edification of others:

The courier used for return is DHL.

My application was received at Hong Kong Consulate on 15th Oct.

I received the receipt for payment and Cardholder Copy back from Hong Kong 31st Oct.

I received the passport today, 1st Nov, form the UK.

A very fast, though expensive, service I must say.

No complaints at all.
