Wimbledon Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Went to a clinic hospital which seeems to have decent rep. Had exrays done on teeth . The two teeth were towards the back of my mouth , and apparently they would place crowns on these 2 for 200 a piece us . However one that. I had a root canal and post, and crown done 2 yrs back from a dentist in the caribbean , they said was infected and need completely redoing ... !!!??... I have no pain and it looks good ,so i dont really know if i should go forward with work ... i got exras of it and they have emailed me the exray pics . Can any say whether a dentist can confirm this is true from exrays????
maxme Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Well send this x-ray to a few more reputable dentists for an assessment. PM me i can help recommend some good dentists.
Sheryl Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Yes, take the Xrays to another dentist for a second opinion. Crowns cannot "get infected". They can crack, but infected...not to my knowledge.
Mike45 Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 I'm not a dentist. But I've had a crown redone and they explained my X-Ray to me. This was in the USA. If you look closely to the left hand side under the tooth you will see a dark pocket. That's an infection. It also looks like the root canal was not done completely on that side. The material wasn't rooted to the bottom. Having to redo my crown taught me that not every dentist can do root canals properly and now I'll only have it done by an Endodontist. Good luck.
