Botox injections

My current girlfriend has asked me if I would pay half for her to have ( I expect it will be all ) botox injections to plump up her upper lip. I don't think she needs it but she is pretty insistent so I said I will make some enquires about price and location hence the subject. If any BM has info about the above it would be very helpful and appreciated. The only problem I have is I seem to remember an actress I think it was Leslie Ash ended up with a " trout pout " that people cruelly named it. Did her lips ever return to normal?

I am glad to see that you are making further enquiries, and did not simply appease your girlfriend. I had a similar request from my ex wife, and I refused point blank after some simple research. Apart from the fact she did not need it, there was the ongoing top-up costs & potential side effects to consider. Me thinks it is more about showing off than necessary medical correction.

From, female...in the west (i.e. licensed plastic surgeons (not cosmetic surgeons) and reputable dermatologists do not use botox to plump up lips. They use Restylane or juvederm.. The price factor is about 3X that of Botox in the west--probably same over here. They last about 1 year--if the person does not smoke. Then more injections (top up). Depending on the skill of the practitioners and depending upon the persons skin (no way to determine before) you can end up with some bumps(lumps) in the injected site. Some people have them for 6 months or so. reputable hospital dermatology dept or one of the top clinics at Emporium or Siam Paragon is the only place i would consider getting further cosmetic injections for myself--and never in the lip--the wrinkle injections were painful enough-can't imagine injection into the lips.

Don't be swayed by the discount coupons offerred by small clinics on the online coupon sites--Dr can buy botox already to inject or you can buy a concentrate to be diluted. I have had two experiences with Botox (for wrinkles here) and two back home. The discounted coupon offered by clinics with many outlets in some malls is for heavily diluted botox--more than usual.. Then when you go back in 3-4 month and pay full retail price you get the correct dilution. Before discussing with Dr back home, I asked Dr here why it didn't last as long as back home--he said I was older needed more and more often. Discussing with Dr back home found out about the dilution scams.

I wouldn't pay for it for GF. Like another poster said it's to show off. Look online for pictures of problem lip injections and show her the pictures--say you care about here and don't want her to end up like that.

There's a difference between what Leslie Ash got (liquid silicone) and what the OP's girlfriend is asking for- Botox injections. The Botox ones won't be nearly so extreme or pronounced and will wear off after two or three months or so, unlike liquid silicone which becomes permanent.

So the comparison with Leslie Ash in this case isn't really accurate, thankfully.

You won't get a trout pout from Botox. I mean, I still think it's a pretty unnecessary treatment, but she won't end up looking the like creature from the Black Lagoon or anything...

As Orchidlady said, Botox does not plump up lips. Not at all. Botox only removes wrinkles, it does not add volume. It needs a filler to do that. Which is indeed more expensive than Botox.

Filler will last 6 - 12 months, costs more than Botox and the results are hard to get exactly right. In particular, attempts to plump up just the upper lip may lead to it sticking out further than the lower...Then when you go to address that by putting a little filler int the lower lip, that ends up a little bigger and so on..you get the idea. It is possible in a worst case scenario to inject an enzyme that undoes the filler, but then you are back at square one and minus a lot of $$.
