November 9, 201312 yr This morning I woke up to discover that random sites are not accessible from my internet. None are sensitive or in anyway website that you would expect to be blocked. I was able to go to a couple by using the Tor Browser but that isn't a feasible alternative for regular browsing. I'm going to head over to a coffee shop or something to see if the problem is resolved but just wanted to ask if anybody has experienced this as an issue with True internet. Any ideas? Thanks!
November 9, 201312 yr I would guess that it is not True that is blocking the sites - at least not directly. You should check in the Internet Computer thread on ThaiVisa. Many people have been having problems. This happens a few times every year. My guess is that the filters isp's are required by the government to use inadvertently block sites that do not need to be blocked. One more guess is that it will fix itself within a few days. I just got to a site this afternoon that I was not able to get to for about 5 days. Thanks to Chicog for pointing me to some good ideas.
November 9, 201312 yr we have 3BBB and getting some issues also.. funny thing is... my chrome browser won't access TMZ or an asian movie site... but Firefox will access it, thru an anonymizer plug in... however my torrents to the asian movie site are dead in the water...
November 9, 201312 yr It's an ISP wide issue and problems with CAT DNS servers and fiber cable - See topic here - http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/680463-ip-ranges-blocked/
November 9, 201312 yr Author Thanks for the replies everybody. When I came home in the afternoon it all seemed to be fine. Appreciate the link as well. good info to know.
November 9, 201312 yr I think it's a Thailand specific problem rather than True. I find I can't access several sites, not porno or political, but I can when I go to work in Iraq. On the other hand there are innocuous sites I can't access there.
November 10, 201312 yr True sent me a SMS saying they were working on H/W and people may experience internet problems through 6 am Monday, 11 November.
