I'm going to buy a ticket for my filipino girlfriend from the Philippines to Thailand and back. And I'm going to pay via my kasikorn virtual card most probably.

Is this subject to any difficulties?

Show credit card on checkin will be a problem with a virtual card.

That the card is on a different name won't make it better.

If it is with Thai Airways, you start to book the ticket, fill out a bit of the booking then you ring them. They will ask your name etc then pull up the uncompleted booking ask you a few questions. There is another part of the booking you cannot see but theycan they will work it out for you no problems takes about 5 minutes.

I've done this before with Air Asia for my wife flying down to south Thailand from Bangkok.... it's not a problem as long as you go through the "verified by visa" routine apparently. (this is with Kbank virtual shopping card)

In fact in over 20 flights I've taken with Air Asia over the last few years, I've never been asked to show the card.

However, assuming you can get the flight with Air Asia, they also offer the facility to pay for the flight at a 7/11 or by bank transfer.

Phone the airline if in doubt.. Bangkok Airlines are particularly strict on the show credit card requirement though, I once had to pay again.

yes, it will be airasia and some philippine airlines such as PhilippineAirLines to fly domestically in the Philippines, but not ThaiAir because it is expensive.

you have to send your friend a copy of your credit card FRONT AND BACK....

you also have to send your friend a copy of one of your IDS...

that is all that is required

I've flown my Thai gf unaccompanied to Singapore many many times (and to Cambodia) using tickets that I have purchased online using my credit card (but not a virtual credit card, whatever that is). Air Asia, Thai Airways, Jetstar, Cathay Pacific etc. Never a problem. But she carries a copy of my passport ID page, my business card, and a scan of the front of my credit card (with all but last four numbers blurred out) embedded in a brief letter from me. On the very few occasions on which she's been asked to show a credit card, these have sufficed.

As someone else mentioned, the real problem can be getting the girl out of the Philippines. I know many girls trying to come to Singapore who haven't made it out of their own airport. Supposed to prevent human trafficking, but it ends up being a way for Philippine immigration officers to make some money on the side (though I'm hearing that it's no longer the case under the current president ... pesos in the passport doesn't work anymore). Perhaps having her present a letter from you will overcome this hurdle ... or they may not be so concerned about Filipinas going to Thailand (it may not be seen as a 'work' destination).

That seems a brilliant Idea---maybe you could even CC a copy to some other people at the same time.

This has been asked before.

most posters are clueless.

you must vist Philippine Immigration Website.

There is a class she must attend

Also requires additional documentation. I am not going to look it up for you...the info was linked in previous posts

Make sure she has more than six months left on her passport.

Pretty sure an address is needed. (I went throught this 2 years ago, but the girl changed her mind about coming)

She need some cash.

A notarized letter from you...why she is travelling with you, and you will watch out for her....etc.

Watch out for the unexpected....like here, rules can change suddenly...and any suspicion is going to end up with her sitting in an office full of immigration guys with pesos for eyes.

This is not correct, this class is intended for filipinos intending to LIVE OVERSEAS, long term not for a holiday.

I have taken my GF to Thailand 3 times, and also to Hongkong. and she has never attended this class. The biggest problems will be if she has an unused passport and if she leaves from Clark thats much tougher.

The documentation you give her needs to show an ongoing relationship and means of support for her, including travel insurance.

Perhaps a gentle warning to black out the last four digits would be received a bit better by the poster, than a flippant one.

Just my 2-Bahts worth.

Think, think, think.

there may be no problem on the way you buy ticket. Your problem is, will she be allowed to go out from the Philippines?

I have heard of lots of being off-loaded passengers because all their reasons were to go tour. They have money to show but immigration in the Philippines needs invitation letter which is accompanied by bank statement and work permit from the one who invites

My wife is a Filipina. She traveled from Chiang Mai to Manila round trip with her Canadian passport. I booked online with my credit card.

I made sure she carried with her:

Photocopies of my passport, photocopies of my credit card, photocopy of the e-ticket, photocopy of the online account with the airfare transaction.

She never needed to show anything. All without a hitch. Make sure you email her similar papers (if you trust her enough).

Absolutely wrong! She is traveling round trip. Classes are for those who want to reside abroad.

If she works for the government, she must have "authorisation to travel" otherwise she will never leave the Philippines.

yes, she is about to get her new passport. She is also pretty young.

There is no proof of our relationship except the photos.
