For grins I just tried it and it "kinda" works. It peeled about 75% of the garlic that I put in the bowl. Makes a hell of a noise and the dogs all started barking. I now have a handful of peeled garlic so I guess that I'll have to cook some pizza sauce and then a big pizza which, of course, will have to be washed down with a couple of cold beers. Glad that I tried it!

I'm going for a beer.................sad.png

What an excellent idea, never thought of that! Supposed to be on a diet, so maybe a couple of G & T's instead but will have to reduce the amount of calorie laden tonic and double the lemon. smile.png

I've seen this before but I've never needed that much garlic at one time, and I doubt I ever will until the vampire-pocalypse.

Aww the vampire-pocalypse is sooooo last century, you only need to worry about the zombie-pocalypse. Eat garlic and be happy, until of course the zombies get ya!

I've been doing this for years with smaller quantities and much smaller bowls - if I have 5 or 6 cloves to peel I get the bowls out. It really only works with very fresh garlic, if not so fresh it helps if you put the cloves under a heavy knife and lean on it to crush them a little before giving them a shake.

You don't really need the 2 bowls. I used his technique but put the garlic in a large storage bowl with a tight lid and shook it the same way....worked pretty good.
