just moved to a romote corner of sansai and internet is a problem

Three month wait for TOT however using my iPhone as a hot spot is doing an acceptable job. Friend suggested an air card as means to connect. any suggestions or thoughts

I live in a remote and obscure corner of Sansai too, and have for almost 6 years now. Only this year have I been able to use Skype. I still can't make it through a youtube video all the way without it stalling. About a year ago they put in all new cables and since then I can use Skype about 90% of the time. The 5 years prior I could not make a Skype connection or make it into 5 seconds of a you tube video. We have had numerous technicians out and tried a couple of different companies and plans but nothing made a difference. They all say that our connection is the farthest one away form any 'box' and ends at our house. A neighbor recently paid about 6K THB to have some kind of amplifier installed by 3BB but it has done nothing for their connection (or ours) and they are in the process of a dispute and trying to get their money back.

Remote areas are great (we are surrounded by jungle and man-made lakes on 3 sides), but are terrible for Internet connections.

Have you tried AirNet with AIS ?

If you have line of sight with one of the radio/com tower it has proven quite reliable for me, I am in Sansai too.

I also have an AIS air card or what ever you call them. I am relatively close to the tower yet it has a habit of disconnecting.

For the most part it is just a nucence. I just minimize my web page and reconnect and I am right back to where I left off. It has a habit some times of being slow other times OK. I think they oversold the product. Standard operating procedure.

AirNet is not an air card. They will install a fixed antenna at your house. Contact them, in my case they came the same day, run some test to see if the connection works, if it does, you can have it all installed/setup the same day and browse the net in the evening.

I used air cards at the beginning with mixed results and at more expense if you are heavy on data such as videos (works on 3G network as any phone would work with data package). AirNet offers a 24/7 connection for about 600Bht/month which suits my needs. I do not have a fixed phone line so I do not have other options for internet connections.

If you haven't tried yet, give it a chance and that may be the solution for your internet problem.

Yes try AirNet. Had TOT for many years and they were terrible. Now on AirNet and good speeds and no problems. Try them.

I am on the basic plan but it is ok. youtube BBC iPlayer etc all good.
