My grand-daughter wants to ride a water buffalo

Featured Replies

My two British grand-daughters (5 and 6) will be making their 4th trip to Thailand early next year.

They both love horse riding in the UK, they are fed up with riding elephants here they have decided that they want to ride water buffaloes.

Not just ride, they've seen old footage of girls keeping dry when riding them by standing on their backs as they wallow across rivers and want to do that. A wish not helped by my lady wife telling them that's how she used to go to school if she'd been good (avoiding a long walk to the bridge).

Any chance whatever of them getting their wishes somewhere within range of BKK and with safety of course (life jackets although they both swim like fish).

I suspect they may need a change of clothing too:-

I'm afraid our's is not feeling well - or so I've been told.

Thousands of Thais ride buffaloes for a monthly fee.

Wife's family has quite a few. Her mother won't go anywhere near them any more after losing a few fingers. They can be really mean.

Indeed something to keep in mind. People do get killed by water buffalos.....
