thailiketoo
Why is it very important? So, i don't call someone a pedo for liking 12 year olds (who have started puberty)?? Personally, i think Hebephilia is sick too. If i were to fall into this category, i would seriously consider counseling. And, in my opinion, if a person's sexual preference is determined by age, and if that age is preferred to be as young as legally possible, then there may be a problem. I've found in life that the people who judge people are sometimes the worst offenders. My brother's a poor missionaryHe saves little girlies from sinHe'll save you one for five dollarsMy God, how the money rolls in! Two high school girls ambling down a flower-lined path visibly flinched when asked about Brother Swaggart. Their eyes widened with anxiety, and one stammered out what had overnight become a standard phrase to ward off outsiders: "No comment at this time." Some older church members were less reticent. "I am indignant," said a 47-year-old woman member of Swaggart's Assemblies of God Church. "How could he stand up there in the pulpit and preach against adultery and promiscuity when he was doing that kind of thing all this time? http://www.people.com/people/archive/article/0,,20098413,00.html I feel that anyone should be able to talk about any subject without some would be preacher casting accusations about for the discussion of a subject. Kudos for Thai Visa for not letting the witch hunters get the upper hand.

Out of curiosity, what problem might that be? Kinda sounds like "Well if someone brings as many bottles of wine into the country as is legally possible, then there may be a problem!" mmmkay.. I drive as fast as is legally possible. Problem. I pay as little tax as is legally possible. Problem. If you have an issue with the laws as they currenty are then just say so; that would be a good discussion as that argument quickly veers into women's rights or advocates ageism. Water Buffalo
Accuracy. OK, my mistake, one who is attracted to pubescent children is not a pedophile, but a hebephile. A very fine line in sickness and probably a very fine line in damage done to the child. (if any difference at all) And yes, contrary to the correction i received from another member earlier, i do regard a 10 year-old as a child (regardless of puberty). I've found in life that the people who judge people are sometimes the worst offenders. But my sexual activity is not based on how young the law will allow. Problem with the Thai law? I think they got it right at 18. Travel2003
I was fortunate enough that my now wife still dressed in the uniform when we met. So no need for dress-ups. She played the Prison Guard (in uniform) and you played the....? She played the KTB service engineer and I played the ATM. Technically, I believe she was the ATM, since you insert stuff. lol Anyhow, this is splitting hair, when the end result is the same, and there are so many other interesting posts in this thread lately. In the beginning of this thread some comments about females have to be 20 or have the consent of their parents. Your comments do not make sense. A poor girl who is 18 can have sex without the parents permission but a rich one can't ? Oh and what about for money? Same comment applies ? SeabagsFull
For both the OP & administrative junkies like myself, the following is for you. Summary of Probably Correct Answers. 1. The legal ages of sexual consent in Thailand: a. 20 – No undue restrictions; the safest. b. 18 – Fairly safe; should take measures (e.g. photos or video with parents) to avoid possible back-door blackmail from inlaws. c. 15 – Troublesome; should take corroborative steps to document parental consent; parents can apparently later change their minds d. 13 – Dangerous; only permitted with both a judge’s written consent & both parents' permission, the latter of which a signed affidavit would surely be prudent. Australia’s laws are apparently similar to the U.S.’ c. timtscott
Stick to women. Regardless of the law did you have judgement to make good decisions at age 16 or whatever? Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand To class up the thread with some historical perspectives. Nonetheless, belief in the existence of a "rule of thumb" law to excuse spousal abuse can be traced as far back as 1782, the year that James Gillray published his satirical cartoon Judge Thumb. The cartoon lambastes Sir Francis Buller, a British judge, for allegedly ruling that a man may legally beat his wife, provided that he used a stick no thicker than his thumb.
